聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP detachment will hold a Town Hall meeting in Carlyle Tuesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Carlyle Memorial Hall. Staff Sgt. Darren Simons says: 鈥淲e're hoping to do three other Town Hall meetings - in addition to the Carlyle event - within the detachment area. We want to hear from our communities about their concerns and we encourage everyone to attend.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚t is our desire that the RCMP focuses our efforts in the proper direction to meet the expectations of the communities we serve,鈥 explains Simons. 鈥淲e are hoping that this meeting and subsequent meetings throughout our detachment area will give community members the opportunity to provide input in developing policing priorities.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淭his information will then assist us in meeting the expectations of the communities and citizens we work with to make our communities safer and more productive,鈥 he adds. 鈥淲e desire true community engagement, ensuring community input is acknowledged.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP responded to several calls from Thursday, Feb. 8 to Thursday, Feb. 15.
听听听听听听听听听听听 911
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two 911 calls were received this week. One was the result of a computer glitch at an area business. The other call was from an individual (not the business owner) reporting a mechanical problem at a business in Carlyle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP Staff Sgt. Darren Simons says: 鈥淚'd like to remind everyone that 911 is reserved for emergencies only. This week, an individual called 911 to advise that a car wash's doors would not go down. We do appreciate the intent of this call because this is a situation that could become costly for the business owner.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淗owever, it was not a life or death emergency situation or a crime in progress, so in a case like this, please don't call 911.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淲e do appreciate people using the car wash to keep their licence plates clean and visible, but please remember, 911 is for emergencies only.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 Five alarms went off in error this week. One originated in Carlyle and two each originated in Arcola and Redvers.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related offences
听听听听听听听听听听听 Reports of underage drinking at a facility in Carlyle are currently under investigation by RCMP.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault
听听听听听听听听听听听 An assault investigation in Arcola resulted in charges.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An assault in the Carlyle area is still under investigation by RCMP.
听听听听听听听听听听听 In Redvers, an assault is currently under investigation.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Another assault reported in Redvers was deemed to be unfounded by police.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assistance
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP assisted the Regina Police Service in an attempt to locate a wanted individual. Later, it was determined that this person was not in the detachment area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members assisted the Weyburn and Fillmore RCMP detachments by obtaining statements.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Break and enter
听听听听听听听听听听听 A break-in occurred at the Redvers Rec Centre. There are currently no suspects or clues that could lead to an arrest. Carlyle RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in this matter. Anyone having any information regarding this crime is asked to call the Carlyle RCMP at (306)-453-6707.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A break-in occurred at a business in Redvers.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A break-in at a property in Manor is unsolved at this time. The property sustained damage to a gate.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Child Welfare Act
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP dealt with two situations involving the Child Welfare Act during this period.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Failure to comply
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP charged an individual from the Arcola area for failing to comply with their release conditions. This person was held in custody due to the seriousness of their original charges.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members dealt with a situation at court in Carlyle involving an individual who failed to comply with their release conditions, which involved a no-contact order. No additional charges were laid.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members charged a youth for failing to comply with a probation order.
听听听听听听听听听听听 聽Fraud
听听听听听听听听听听听 Staff Sgt. Simons says that incidences of attempted frauds 鈥渙f all kinds鈥 are resurfacing.
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淲e've had reports of people being threatened by someone saying they're from Revenue Canada,鈥 he says. 鈥淎nd we've also had reports of calls coming from numbers that people don't recognize. I'd advise everyone not to call these numbers back. If it's important, they'll leave a voice mail or find another legitimate way to get in touch.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淎nd remember, it's not a prize if you have to pay to get it. Legitimate companies will spend the time and effort to contact you properly,鈥 adds Simons. 鈥淚t's the same thing if someone's contacting you about an inheritance. A legal representative will find a legitimate way to get in touch with you.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淧lease, please don't call these numbers back. If you don't keep your curiousity in check, it could cost you.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members provided assistance to local EMS regarding situations involving the Mental Health Act.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Mischief
听听听听听听听听听听听 In an incident involving property damage, an intoxicated individual was removed from an area residence and lodged in cells until sober.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Missing person
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP investigated a report of a missing person this week. Members determined that this individual was not missing and was safe.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Obstruction of justice
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP are currently investigating the case of an individual regarding possible obstruction of justice for interfering with a police officer while they were performing their duty.
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚f you interfere with a police officer while they are doing their job, you could face criminal charges,鈥 Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淲e all want to help our friends, but when a police officer says: 'Stop what you're doing and leave the area,' then do so.'鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 Theft
听听听听听听听听听听听 A reported theft under $5,000 in the detachment area was deemed to be unfounded. Police concluded that it was a civil matter.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic offences/Collisions
听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was fined $500 in court for failing to report a collision. Another individual was also fined $500 for failing to report property damage. Staff Sgt. Simons says: 鈥淭here is no legitimate reason not to report a collision where a vehicle is damaged and/or needs to be towed. We have 24-hour dispatch, so it's easy to report an accident. Even if there are no injuries involved, accidents involving damage to a vehicle or other property should be reported to police.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members made patrols in response to two incidents involving possibly-impaired drivers - one in the Carlyle area and one near Manor.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Three individuals were fined $280 each for using a cellphone while operating a motor vehicle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two individuals were charged with failing to wear seatbelts.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP issued just under 20 tickets for speeding this week, with fines reaching a high of $360.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was fined $580 for not insuring their vehicle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was fined $230 for failing to stop at a posted stop sign.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police dealt with several incidents involving drivers who were unable to produce their drivers licences and/or driving without a valid drivers licence. 鈥淧ut simply, you must carry your drivers licence with you when you're operating a motor vehicle,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淭he fine for failing to produce your drivers licence is $100.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members also issued tickets or warnings for the following: obstructed licence plates, damaged windshields, an inadequate speedometer, non-working tail lights, failure to pull over when approached by an emergency vehicle, inadequate daytime running lights and illegal window tint.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A report of an individual uttering threats from within the detachment area remains unsolved.
