聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP detachment dealt with several files from Thursday, Nov. 30 to Thursday, Dec. 7.
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淭his week, we were pleased to welcome RCMP Corporal Cory Patterson and Detective Constable Peter Froh from Regina Police Services for an important presentation at Carlyle Elementary School,鈥 says Corporal James Barnett of the Carlyle RCMP detachment. 鈥淲e's also like to extend a thank you to CES Principal Tyler Fehrenbach for his involvement in bringing this presentation to Carlyle.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淏oth of these officers work in Saskatchewan's Integrated Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit,鈥 explains Barnett. 鈥淎s a police officer and a parent, I was impressed by the presentation and found it very informative. These officers discussed child safety, the dangers of social media and internet sites, the exploitation of children within our province and within Canada, and most importantly, what parents and community members need to know, especially with regards to the possible dangers to children that accompany technology.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two frivolous calls were made to the 911 emergency number this week. The RCMP reminds members of the public that 911 is to be used for emergency purposes only.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related offences
听听听听听听听听听听听 An impaired individual in the Arcola area was arrested as a result of some suspicious activity. This person also obstructed the subsequent police investigation into this matter.
听听听听听听听听听听听 This week, members dealt with a significant increase in drivers travelling with open liquor in their vehicles.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist received a three-day suspension.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Animal calls
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police responded to a reported sighting of a large cat within the Village of Manor.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP responded to a call reporting a pet in a house in Carlyle. This call was deemed to be unfounded.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Arrests
听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was arrested by Carlyle RCMP after they escaped custody in Regina.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two individuals were arrested for failing to comply with their release conditions.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members are currently investigating an assault which occurred in the Carlyle area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assistance
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP provided assistance to both Calgary City Police and the Yorkton RCMP detachment regarding two separate matters.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members assisted the Saskatchewan Crown Prosecutor's Office by serving a subpoena.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Criminal harassment
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP received a call regarding a possible case of criminal harassment within the detachment area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Failure to comply
听听听听听听听听听听听 One individual failed to comply with their probation order.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Mental Health Act
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police dealt with two files under the Mental Health Act this week.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Mischief
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police received two calls reporting suspected acts of mischief in the detachment area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Theft
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP are currently investigating the theft of a weapon from a truck in a rural area near Arcola.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic offences/Collisions
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist collided with a dog on Hwy 9 near Carlyle. The driver was shaken, but sustained no major injuries.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a report of an erratic driver near Kisbey. This individual was thought to be impaired, but instead was found to be texting while driving. Members of the Carlyle detachment remind motorists that distracted driving of any kind and/or driving with undue care and attention not only carries penalites, but can also lead to tragic outcomes.
听听听听听听听听听听听 This week, members dealt with motorists failing to stop at posted stop signs, motor vehicle insurance violations and licence and registration violations. Police also issued several speeding tickets throughout the detachment area. Carlyle RCMP members remind motorists to drive with road and weather conditions in mind at all times, but especially during winter.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police issued several inspection tickets and/or warnings, including: cracked windshields and burned out headlights and tail lights, the latter of which can often go out when outdoor temperatures change.
