听听听听听听听听听听听 Staff Sgt. Darren Simons of the Carlyle RCMP detachment says the RCMP appreciates calls from members of the public, adding: 鈥淧lease reserve the use of 911 for emergencies or what could be an emergency, such as reporting an erratic driver. For all other calls - including calls reporting or requesting information, please call 310-RCMP or during working hours, call the Carlyle detachment at 453-6707.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 One 911 call was due to a static line.

听听听听听听听听听听听 In Carlyle, an individual was fined $200 and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members from the Carlyle RCMP detachment assisted with traffic control in the Carnduff/Oxbow area during recent grass fires there.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members on patrol contacted the owner of a business regarding an open garage door on the business's premises. 鈥淲e do pro-active policing,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淲e want to work with members of the community and this is an example of that.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 The RCMP were contacted after receiving a report of an individual giving their Social Insurance Number to a caller claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). 鈥淭hese callers can be very convincing,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淗owever, the CRA will not contact you by phone and arrest warrants from the CRA do not exist. Please safeguard your personal and banking information and if you're not sure who is calling you or who that email is from, check it out before you give out any information.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 The RCMP conducted one investigation pertaining to the Mental Health Act during this period.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Property damage
听听听听听听听听听听听 In Manor, property damage involving young people playing a game occurred.聽
听听听听听听听听听听听 Theft
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two stolen vehicles were recovered. Both were burned.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members are investigating a case of theft under $5,000. A large sign was stolen from an area business.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic offences/Collisions
听听听听听听听听听听听 Within the detachment area, two motorists were charged with driving while disqualified.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP dealt with three motor vehicle insurance violations this week. The fine for this offence is $580. Members also dealt with four intersection-related offences. This offence carries a $230 fine.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A driver was fined $150 for failing to comply with a licence restriction.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was fined $100 for failing to provide their vehicle registration.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An off-duty RCMP member from the Carlyle detachment dealt with an erratic driver. 鈥淛ust because we're off-duty doesn't mean we won't do our job,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淲e will deal with things.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 The report of an erratic driver by a member of the public resulted in a warning letter from the RCMP being sent to the vehicle's owner. 鈥淣o matter who is or isn't driving, the vehicle's owner is responsible,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two individuals received fines of $175 each for failing to wear a seatbelt.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members issued several speeding tickets this week, including three fines of $150 each.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police issued several tickets and warnings for: windshields in need of repair, tail light and muffler violations and insecure loads.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Uttering threats
听听听听听听听听听听听 Three incidences of uttering threats were dealt with by Carlyle RCMP. One is currently under investigation and two were deemed to be unfounded.
