聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls from Friday, Sept. 1 to Thursday, Sept. 7.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Fatality

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淭his week, a fatal traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck occurred in our detachment area,鈥� says Staff Sgt. Darren Simons of the Carlyle RCMP. 鈥淭ragically, the operator of the motorcycle passed away as a result of their injuries.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淲e have offered Victims Services to the occupants of the pickup truck.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淭his is a difficult part of the job for all emergency services as well as those who come across the scene of an accident, especially when there are injuries 鈥� and when accidents involve fatal injuries, even more so. Along with local members and local emergency responders, an RCMP member from Estevan was at the scene as well to assist with accident reconstruction. I am very proud of how our team responded, but equally sad that an individual lost their life.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 911/FalseAlarms

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two 911 calls were misdials 鈥� one the result of a child playing with the phone.

听听听听听听听听听听听 One alarm went off due to an animal being inside a building, while two alarms in Carlyle went off in error.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Animal call(s)

听听听听听听听听听听听 A member of the RCMP Traffic Division responded to a call regarding cattle running loose on a highway. The member located the owner of the livestock and the situation was resolved.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related offences

听听听听听听听听听听听 An intoxicated individual was arrested in Carlyle and lodged in cells until sober.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Assistance

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members provided assistance to Child and Family services this week.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members from surrounding detachments sent 鈥渁t least two contingents鈥� to British Columbia to assist with the forest fires in that province, according to Staff Sgt. Simons.

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淢embers from our own detachment went to assist at Pelican Narrows to help with the evacuation efforts there,鈥� says Simons. 鈥淥ne of our members rescued four puppies who were abandoned as a result of the fires and they were all adopted before he returned home.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淪everal of our area traffic members went to Onion Lake to assist with a situation there. And another member went to Stony Rapids to assist in that community鈥� he adds. 鈥淣ot only are we helping out our neighbours, but our members are also gaining experiences which are invaluable to their development as police officers.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚n some places, our members will see more in a week than they would see here in a month, so it's all excellent experience, which will only benefit our community.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault

听听听听听听听听听听听 An assault in the Carlyle area in which an individual produced a firearm is still under investigation by Carlyle RCMP. One person was arrested.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An assault which occurred in the Carlyle area is still under investigation by RCMP.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Breach of release conditions/Court

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a report about an individual breaching their release conditions. This proved to be unfounded.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Three individuals did not appear in court as required and as a result, face additional charges.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Break and enter

听听听听听听听听听听听 Police are currently investigating a break-in which occurred at an Arcola business, in which the doors of the business were smashed.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Child welfare

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP are currently conducting a child welfare investigation within the detachment area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Lost property

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP were able to return lost property to the owner. 鈥淚f you find something valuable, please bring it to us and we will do our best to find the owner of the property and return it to them,鈥� says Staff Sgt. Simons.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Mental Health Act

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members dealt with two Mental Health files this week.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Mischief

听听听听听听听听听听听 Police are currently investigating a situation in which an individual walked into a home when the owners were in residence. This person was not known to the residents of the home.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members are investigating a report of someone sneaking into a residence in the Carlyle area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An intoxicated individual was causing problems in a residence. Members resolved the situation.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An intoxicated individual was removed from a residence by RCMP and lodged in cells until sober.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members charged an intoxicated person in a residence with mischief.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Theft

听听听听听听听听听听听 A vehicle reported to the RCMP as stolen was found to be repossessed.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A truck reported as stolen to the RCMP was found to be loaned to a friend of the vehicle owner.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic offences/Collisions

听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist avoided colliding with a deer, but rolled their vehicle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A driver was fined $280 for using their cellphone while driving.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members dealt with one motor vehicle insurance violation. The fine for this offence is $580.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP issued several speeding tickets this week, with fines reaching $200.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Police dealt with several other traffic offences, including: seatbelt violations, drivers operating a motor vehicle without a valid licence and inspection tickets, including improper tint on vehicle windows.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members responded to two reports of erratic drivers within the detachment area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to two reports of vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Unlawful in a dwelling house

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a call in which an individual was alleged to be found unlawful in a dwelling house.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP responded to a report of an individual uttering threats.
