Weekly RCMP Report

The Carlyle RCMP responded to a variety of calls between Friday, March 17, and Thursday, March 23. 911 call An abandoned 911 call was received. Members attended to follow up, EMS services were already on site.

            The Carlyle RCMP responded to a variety of calls between Friday, March 17, and Thursday, March 23.

911 call

            An abandoned 911 call was received. Members attended to follow up, EMS services were already on site. In regards to 911 calls, if there is a hang up expect someone to call back or attend.

Animal calls

            There was a report of loose dogs in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

            Assistance was given to the SPCA in regards to cattle not being properly taken care of in the Kisbey area.

            There were complaints of dogs in the area and the RCMP worked with the local veterinarian regarding the complaint.

Alarm

            An alarm call was responded to in the area.

            There were two false alarms reported in Carlyle and one in Wawota.

Assault

            Four assault calls were investigated. The call to an assault in Redvers didn’t result in charges as those involved were too young to charge; it was reported for information purposes.

            An assault was reported in the Carlyle area, but the individual was too intoxicated to make a proper statement and it is undetermined if an assault took place or not.

            There was an assault reported in Carlyle, but the individual was too intoxicated to determine if an assault took place.

            An allegation took place regarding an assault with a weapon in the Carlyle area. RCMP are investigating.

Assistance

            RCMP joined Fire Departments in Carlyle, Redvers, and Alameda for a rally to help bring awareness to drivers regarding emergency response vehicles and the need to slow down to 60 km/hr when passing one with their lights on.

            You must slow to 60 km/hr, however, Staff Sgt. Darren Simons says that although the maximum you can go while passing an emergency vehicle or tow truck with their lights on is 60 km/hr, vehicles are encouraged to slow down a little more for safety purposes. At 60 km/hr, if someone steps in front of your vehicle you’re still moving quite quickly.

            An individual in custody was swearing and yelling in court. The individual remained in custody.

            There was an individual who found their vehicle was damaged after washing it at the car wash.

            RCMP responded to six mental health calls.

            RCMP also conducted wellbeing checks during this time to confirm that individuals were alright.

Breach of release conditions

            An individual was found in violation of their release conditions three times. They were not home one evening when the RCMP checked on them, they were in an intoxicated state, and they had been given an hour pass to leave the house but were in town after they were supposed to be home.

Break and enter

            There was a break and enter at Kenosee Lake, which is currently under investigation.

Driving infractions

            An individual was fined for driving without a licence. The individual was being belligerent, arguing, and swearing at officers. RCMP held the individual, but they were not charged.

            There was an erratic driver reported. RCMP stopped the driver who explained it was due to it being windy out and the driver being tired. RCMP encourages fatigued drivers to stop and rest; it’s better to be late than not make it to your destination at all.

            An individual refused a breath sample, so was charged with impaired driving.

            Two people were fined for not having motor vehicle insurance.

            There were four intersection tickets within the coverage area of the Carlyle detachment.

            This week speeders topping the scale were fined $328, $360, and $448.

            RCMP fined two individuals for seatbelt violations - $175 each.

            Two people were fined $150 for not driving as per their licence restrictions.

            Various inspection tickets were issued during the week for mud flaps, vehicle conditions, windshields, headlights, taillights, and improperly secured licence plates.

            An individual was fined for driving without a licence.

            The stop sign affixed to a light post at the intersection of Hwy 9 and 13 was knocked off.

            There was a collision with a deer reported in the detachment area.

Fire

            There was a tractor fire north of Arcola.

Fraud

            An individual responded to an email allegedly from PayPal with information and then realized they shouldn’t have sent it.

Harassing communications

            There was a report of harassing communications in the Carlyle area.

Liquor Act

            An intoxicated woman was found in Carlyle and helped RCMP helped her home.

            A person was fined $360 for having alcohol in their vehicle.

            There was an intoxicated woman reportedly jumping in front of vehicles. RCMP attended and picked the woman up.

Narcotics

            An individual was reported in Arcola for being high on drugs. Patrols were made, but the individual was not located.

            Two other drug investigations took place.

Mischief

            An individual reported their hubcaps as stolen. RCMP found that the hubcaps had been removed from the vehicle and placed underneath the car.

Obstruction

            RCMP were searching for an individual wanted on warrant and charged a person in relation with obstruction.
