The weekly RCMP report is prepared with the assistance of the Carlyle RCMP.
Issues involving the Mental Health Act, among others, are not reported.
The report this week covers the period of Jan. 14, 2011, to Jan. 20, 2011.
The RCMP responded to a total of 39 calls over the week.
Beginning Jan. 14, members responded to a report of a two-vehicle MVA on highway 13 in the vicinity of Arcola.
With limited visibility, a semi truck had hit the road edge, and had ended up in the ditch at the side of the highway.
A car, which was following the truck, mistakenly followed into the ditch, and became trapped underneath the rear of the trailer.
There were no injuries.
The detachment received a call from a motorist stuck on a road south east of Forget.
Members summoned a tow truck for the caller, and no members attended the scene.
Investigations are ongoing after a complainant called to report an 18-wheeler that while passing the complainant at an unsafe speed, clipped the caller's vehicle causing damage.
A two-vehicle MVA was reported on highway 13 by Arcola.
Members attended and took statements; however no charges have been laid.
A caller contacted the detachment to complain of another driver who, while passing their vehicle on highway 13, had knocked-off the side mirror of the complainant's vehicle.
The caller requested members speak with the driver in question.
Jan. 15 calls began with a complaint of suspicious vehicles in Carlyle.
A complainant called to request a patrol after hearing loud voices and seeing four vehicles idling in an alleyway.
Members attended the scene, but unable to find the vehicles in question.
A 21-year-old male was issued a citation for $230 for failing to stop at a stop sign.
A caller summoned police to a residence where an intoxicated person was attempting to drive a motor vehicle.
Attending members found a 21-year-old female at the scene, and was transported back to the detachment.
The individual refused to take a breathalyser test three times, and was housed in cells.
The individual has been charged with failure to provide a breath sample, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without a licence.
Two complaints came in within a short period of time detailing a number of horses loose and wandering across highway 9.
Responding members found the horses, which by that time had wandered far east of highway 9.
A report of mischief was made from the community of Carlyle, where a vehicle, which was parked overnight at an area business, had been vandalized.
The investigation is ongoing.
A call to the RCMP asked for police assistance in locating a young individual.
Following an investigation, members tracked the person to a friend's house.
The original caller was then contacted with the person's whereabouts.
A call was received requesting police assistance with an intoxicated individual who had decided to make a long walk along the highway.
The caller expressed concerns about the walker's well-being, so members sought and found the individual, who turned out to be the caller.
A complaint of a hit-and-run was made from the community of Carlyle.
On Jan. 16, a 24-hour driving suspension was issued to a 25-year-old female in Redvers.
A call about an injured moose in the road drew members to highway 13 west of Arcola, though members were unable to locate the moose.
A call originating near Redvers informed police of a transport truck with two blown tires driving down the highway.
Patrolling members found the vehicle in question, and ensured it arrived at its destination safely.
A 911 call was made to police detailing a break-and-enter and theft of guns from a residence.
Later, it was found the caller, who had been intoxicated, had not been broken into, and had lent a gun to a family member.
Another 911 call was received detailing an intoxicated individual trying to walk a long distance.
Patrolling members found the person, who was the caller, and who was also the person who had made a similar call the day before.
A complaint was received regarding a blue vehicle loitering at a residence.
Responding members were unable to locate the vehicle.
A false-alarm triggered at a business drew members to the scene, however the area proved to be secure.
A two-vehicle MVA was reported in Carlyle.
Jan. 17, members received a call detailing a possible attempted fraud.
The caller had received a late night phone call from the United States.
The caller was able to identify the fraud, and thus reported it to the police.
Jan. 18 calls began with a false alarm at a business.
A complaint was received detailing a semi-truck which had been driving down the highway near Redvers with its filling valve open, spilling an unknown quantity of crude oil over a considerable distance.
Ministry of Environment was contacted, which informed members that they did not clean spills of that type.
The Ministry of Highways responded by laying sand along the length of the spill.
A $130 speeding ticket was issued to a driver on highway 13 in the vicinity of Arcola.
A caller contacted the detachment after abandoning their car.
The driver, whose car had become stuck in snow far from the main roads, had decided to walk, though they did not know where they were.
Members responded and located a 20-year-old female, who was then transported to Arcola Hospital for observation.
Jan. 19 a call was received requesting assistance in finding two individuals.
The responding members were able to locate the individuals and reunite the parties.
A false alarm drew members to a bank in Carlyle, where employees, while closing the bank for the day, had inadvertently set off the panic alarm.
A call was received from a driver who was reporting a rolled vehicle.
The caller had been the driver of the vehicle, and had waited some time to report the accident because she had been severely shaken-up by the accident.
The statement was taken for the report, and no charges are expected.
Jan. 20 calls began with a report of a calf hit by a vehicle near Parkman.
The caller knew the owner of the calf, and contacted them to inform them of the accident.
An alarm company called the detachment to report an alarm at a residential address in Redvers.
The company representative reported that, when the home was called, the person who answered gave the wrong security password.
Members were able to contact the home, and positively identify the people as the rightful homeowners.
The company was contacted with the information.
