Weekly RCMP report

Between Nov 16 and 22 the RCMP responded to 60 calls. On Nov. 16 they attended a false alarm at a rural location within the Carlyle area. Members checked the garage and confirmed it was secure. There was a report of suspicious people in Redvers.

On Nov. 16 they attended a false alarm at a rural location within the Carlyle area. Members checked the garage and confirmed it was secure.

There was a report of suspicious people in Redvers. A group of four individuals were going door to door soliciting funds. Members responded, but they were unable to locate the group. Following checks they were unable to find anyone who had given money to the group and were unable to locate the group reported as suspicious.

A motor vehicle collision (MVC) was reported near Forget on Highway 13. A vehicle had been parked in the ditch as another vehicle struck it and fled. This incident is currently under investigation.

Near Kisbey on Highway 13 there were reports of a possible impaired driver. The RCMP did not catch the person of interest while driving, but located the owner of the vehicle discovering there was no evidence of impairment.

A prank 911 call was received from the Carlyle area. RCMP attended finding children had been playing with the telephone. Members warned the children and their supervisors concerning the fines associated with calling 911 for non-emergencies.

Friday evening also saw RCMP respond to a stabbing in the local area. An 18-year-old male subject stabbed a 39-year-old male wounding him. The 18-year-old was then struck by a vehicle travelling south on Highway 9. The 18-year-old was treated by medics and transported to the Regina hospital where he was held until Wednesday, Nov. 21, at which time he was arrested. The 18-year-old appeared in court in Regina on Nov. 22 and will appear in court again on Nov. 26 in Estevan. He is being charged with attempted murder.

On Nov. 16 RCMP were called to a business in Arcola concerning a possible theft, but the missing money was located.

Members responded to a residence in the Carlyle area for a reported assault. Investigation revealed there was no assault committed and no one was injured.

On Nov. 17 members were called to assist EMS at a residence in the Carlyle area. The injured was taken to hospital by ambulance and no offence was found.

RCMP responded to a false alarm at a business in Redvers. Members attended and ensured there were no crimes committed.

Reports of suspicious people were reported near Arcola on Highway 13. Members made patrols, but were unable to locate the suspects or the suspects' vehicle.

RCMP responded to a deer collision near Manor on Highway 13. No one was injured, but the vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. No charges were laid.

Members were called to a residence in the Carlyle area regarding a complaint of assault. A 20-year-old male was said to have assaulted a 49-year-old female. Insufficient evidence was found and charges will not be pursued. Both parties were spoken with by RCMP.

RCMP responded to a residence in Arcola where the complainant said there was a male present who was causing a disturbance in the home. Members attended, but the male had since left the scene. No charges will be pursued as the complainant was satisfied that the male had left.

The RCMP were contacted to assist a family in locating a relative. Members were able to locate the subject and put him in touch with the family.

On Nov. 18 there were reports of an impaired driver in Wawota. Patrols were made to locate the vehicle, which was found parked; but, the suspect/driver was not found.

A false 911 call was received from Kenosee. Members responded and found there was no emergency.

RCMP responded to a business in Carlyle that had been broken into. Suspects damaged the inside of the property and stole cash. This matter remains to be under investigation.

An MVC occurred on Highway 13 near Carlyle between a vehicle and a deer. No one was injured and charges were not laid.

A call of a suspicious person was received regarding a male in the Carlyle rural area carrying a firearm. The caller also heard shots fired. Patrols were made and stops were performed in the area, but the suspect was not found.

A complaint regarding garbage left along Highway 13 near Forget were received by RCMP. This is an offence under the Litter Act and the incident is under investigation as members are determining who threw out the trash.

On Nov. 19 there was a report of a theft of tools from a work site in the Redvers area. This matter is still under investigation.

Numerous calls were received concerning an abandoned vehicle along the 601 Grid. Members attended. Following an examination of the scene it was determined the vehicle was not related to any crimes and was subsequently towed at the owner's expense.

An MVC was reported near Redvers on Highway 13. No one was injured, but a 24-year-old male was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.

Members are investigating a complaint of vehicle damage while at a hockey game in Wawota. Suspects were throwing snowballs and smashed the windshield of a minivan.

A hit and run was reported in Redvers, while a vehicle was parked outside of a business. Minor damages were done, but the RCMP are currently investigating the matter.

There was a call reporting an impaired driver. The caller reported the driver was not yet behind the wheel, but gave information as to where they could find the driver at a later time.

RCMP received a complaint of threats being made. Members are now looking to arrest the subject and upon arrest charges will be laid.

A possible impaired driver was reported near Carlyle on Highway 13. RCMP have the vehicle information and the incident is currently under investigation.

An assault was reported. Members attended the scene and obtained statements, but the suspect was not found that evening. The 28-year-old male, Daniel Wagner, turned himself in the next morning and appeared in court on Nov. 21 where he received a 30-day jail sentence.

On Nov. 20 there was a reported hit and run outside of a business in the Carlyle area. RCMP have no suspects at this time, but are investigating the matter.

Members responded to an MVC in Carlyle. No one was injured and charges are not expected to be laid.

A call was also received concerning a possible impaired driver in the Manor area. Patrols were done; but, members were unable to locate the vehicle, though, they do have a suspect.

An MVC between a vehicle and a deer occurred. The driver was uninjured and was able to drive the vehicle from the scene.

RCMP were alerted to a possible traffic hazard on Highway 13 east of Carlyle where semis had been stopped along the highway. This was dangerous as a thick fog was setting in. RCMP ensured the area was cleared for safety purposes.

A 911 call was received for a residence in the Carlyle area. Members responded and discovered it to be a false call; children had been playing with the phone.

Members responded to a residence in the Carlyle area where RCMP were told an intoxicated person was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival the male subject had left and was not located.

There was an MVC near Forget between a vehicle and a deer. No one was injured, but the vehicle was towed.

A call was received concerning an assault which had occurred the previous weekend. The matter is still under investigation.

RCMP responded to a residence in the Carlyle area where occupants of a residence were arguing and the situation was escalating. Members assisted the parties in calming down and one subject was given assistance in leaving the residence. No charges were issued.
