The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 53 calls to service between the week of Friday, Aug. 8, and Thursday, Aug. 14.
911 calls
Three 911 calls were received during this time. Two were static lines and the third was a medical emergency that EMS attended.
Assault
There were three assault calls including one which remains under investigation. The second involved a male assaulting a female in a domestic situation. He was charged and arrested before being let out on conditions.
The third call involved a youth assaulting another youth at the pool. The aggressor was charged with assault and breach of release. He was later released on the condition he would have no contact with the complainant from the pool.
Three requests for fingerprints were requested for Criminal Record Checks.
House parties
Four house parties in the Carlyle area were reported. A warning was issued in one instance, while the other parties were shut down by police.
Assistance
Assistance was given to an individual who wanted RCMP present for leaving a home following a break up to ensure everything was fine.
There was a complaint of an individual harassing individuals at a business in town. The individual was removed by RCMP.
A total of three cabins in the Carlyle area were broken into by two female youth. The youth were located and arrested. After breaking into the cabins the individuals also damaged property inside. Both were charged and then released to their parents.
False alarms
RCMP attended two alarms that had been set off in the area, but both were determined to be false.
Fire
A house fire in Redvers was reported. RCMP attended as did Redvers Fire Department. Three individuals had been in the house at the time of the fire, but no one was injured and they all escaped unharmed. The house was completely engulfed and lost to the fire. The fire is not considered suspicious.
Alcohol-related offences
An individual was pulled over for the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired. RCMP pulled over the driver who was taken to the detachment for samples which tested 120 and 110. As a result, the individuals licence was suspended indefinitely and the vehicle was seized for 60 days under the new legislation. The individual was charged and later released for their court date.
Members witnessed a vehicle of a known suspended driver on the road. Pulling the individual over it was found the driver displayed signs of being intoxicated. After failing a roadside screening test, the individual was arrested and taken to the detachment to provide samples where they read 130 and 130. The vehicle was seized for 60 days and the driver's licence was indefinitely suspended.
Two people were charged for being intoxicated in public places. Both persons were located, given rides to their residences, and warnings were issued. However, no charges were laid.
Traffic infractions
Members witnessed an individual failing to stop at a stop sign and fined a 50-year-old male $230.
A 55-year-old female was stopped after a witness reported the woman failing to stop at a stop sign. Members issued a $230 ticket to the driver.
Four individuals were ticketed for speeding including a 32-year-old male who was fined $140, a 44-year-old male ticketed $190, a 53-year-old male fined $133, and a 27-year-old male fined $188.
Two seatbelt tickets were issued for $175 each. One was given to a 58-year-old male and the other to a 74-year-old male.
One stunting ticket was issued to a 22-year-old male during this time. He was fined $150 for passing a vehicle when it was unsafe to do so, while driving erratically.
An erratic driver was reportedly passing vehicles when unsafe to do so. RCMP attended, but were unable to locate the either vehicle.
Two separate dangerous driving complaints were attended to by members. However, they were unable to locate the vehicles.
On Thursday, Aug. 14, a vehicle blitz was underway with RCMP issuing 18 inspection tickets to individuals for violations of vehicle standards including tint, oversized tires, etc During this time 20 tickets were issued for tint, failing to wear seatbelts, having no driver licence, and one vehicle was seized for 30 days for being unregistered.
Uttering threats
A complainant called in about threats being uttered. The subject of the complaint was spoken to by members. However, the complainant declined to press charges.
