The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP received 30 calls of service between Friday, Feb. 7, and Thursday, Feb. 13.
False calls
A 911 call was received from Redvers. Upon calling back the RCMP discovered it was a false call.
Three false alarms to businesses were reported in the area. In each case RCMP attended and secured the premises determining the alarms to have been false.
Recovery of stolen property
A stolen vehicle was recovered in Redvers. The vehicle had been sitting in Redvers for approximately three months. Members turned the vehicle over to SGI.
Animal call
There was a complaint regarding animals tied up outside in extremely cold conditions. Members contacted SPCA.
Assaults
There were two complaints of domestic assaults during this time. One is currently under investigation, while the other resulted in both parties being charged and released on conditions including no contact until court which is to be set.
Theft
A complaint of gas theft was received. Members investigated and notified the individual who neglected to pay. Upon realizing they hadn't paid for the gas the individual returned to take care of the bill. No charges were laid.
Harassing phone calls
Harassing phone calls were being received by a business. Members spoke with the subject of the complaint and advised them to stop calling. No charges have been laid at this time.
A complainant stated they were receiving unwanted text messages. The parties involved were spoken with and no charges were laid.
Alcohol related calls
There was a complaint of a suspicious person, which members attended. They were able to locate the individual, who was intoxicated, and RCMP ensured the individual made it safely to their destination.
Members attended a call to the casino where an intoxicated person was being problematic. Upon arrival RCMP spoke with the individual who cooperated and agreed to leave the premises. No charges were laid.
Patrols were made after a call was received by the detachment regarding an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was not located.
Traffic infractions
An individual contacted the RCMP regarding a hit and run. The vehicle had been parked in a parking lot, when the owner went to drive the vehicle they noticed damage to the rear bumper of the vehicle. There are currently no suspects or witnesses.
A 27-year-old male was charged $136 for travelling 126 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.
An erratic driver who passed another vehicle and threw a pop bottle at that vehicle was reported. The pop bottle missed the vehicle being passed. Patrols were made, but the erratic driver was not located.
There was a report of a driver travelling faster than reasonable or safe. Members attended, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A complainant reported a semi driving too fast for road conditions as blizzard conditions limited visibility. RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle and would like to remind everyone to drive responsibly and safely, especially during icy and white out conditions.
Two additional semis were reported for travelling faster than reasonable or safe. Patrols were made, but neither vehicle was located.
Members observed a pickup truck with several equipment regulation violations. Upon speaking with the driver it was found that there was a warrant out for their arrest. A search of the vehicle also led to RCMP seizing a small quantity of drugs. The driver was charged and released for a court date.
