Weekly RCMP report

The Carlyle RCMP responded to 64 calls throughout the week of July 5th and 11th. RCMP ask for anyone who has any information pertaining to matters remaining under investigation to contact the detachment or call Crimestoppers.

The Carlyle RCMP responded to 64 calls throughout the week of July 5th and 11th. RCMP ask for anyone who has any information pertaining to matters remaining under investigation to contact the detachment or call Crimestoppers.

False alarms

There was one 911 call during this time, which was determined to be false.

Six false alarms to various businesses and residents were attended by RCMP.

Abandoned vehicle

An abandoned vehicle was reported and eventually towed.

Dog bite

A dog in Arcola was reported for biting someone. The animal has been turned over to health officials.

Assault complaint

There was a complaint of an assault, which is currently under investigation.

Assisting the public

Five calls of assisting the general public were responded to. All were non-criminal in nature.

Two people stopped by the detachment for finger prints to be taken for criminal record check requests.

A cell phone was found behind SEARS in Carlyle and brought in to members. If missing a phone the RCMP asks you come and identify it if it is yours.

A cell phone was reported as stolen. The owner had tracked its location and contacted RCMP who were able to locate the cell phone in a residence. The phone was returned and no charges were laid.

The RCMP were called for an intoxicated male walking along the highway. Members located the male, who was very cooperative, and gave him a ride home.

Break and enterings

A break and entering to a business in Kisbey was reported. Members discovered a pool of blood beside a broken window. Later RCMP learned of a male youth who had attended the Arcola Hospital and was transported to Regina for treatment. The matter remains under investigation.

A second break and entering occurred in Kisbey on the same night as the prior incident and is still being looked into.

A third incident of break and entering was reported in Redvers during this time. Members attended and found $300 to $400 stolen from a residence. This also remains under investigation.

Traffic infractions

A dangerous driver in the Carlyle area was reported for swerving all over the road. Patrols were made, but the vehicle was not located. RCMP ask that complainants attempt to obtain a licence plate number, but request they do not chase down the erratic vehicle for safety precautions.

Members performed a vehicle stop and discovered a driver without a licence. The driver was issued a ticket for driving while disqualified.

A hit and run was reported in the Moose Mountain Provincial Park. The vehicle had been parked at the Kenosee Inn overnight on July 7. The next morning the owner found damage to the passenger side bumper. This incident remains under investigation.

A second hit and run occurred during this time, but the subject's vehicle was located and the matter is under investigation.

Members performed a vehicle stop and discovered the driver was impaired. The subject was arrested and taken to detachment when refusing to provide a breath sample.

Four impaired drivers were reported by concerned individuals. Two of the four drivers reported were found and charged. The third was not located, while the fourth is currently under investigation after a complainant was able to record the licence number.

Seven speeding tickets were issued during this time to a 27-year-old male for travelling 136 km/hr in a 100 zone at $192; a 26-year-old male for travelling 125 km/hr in a 100 zone at $135; a 24-year-old male for travelling 130 km/hr in a 100 zone; a 33-year-old male for travelling 127 km/hr in a 100 zone at $137; a 29-year-old male for travelling 149 km/hr at $218; a 26-year-old male for travelling 137 km/hr in a 100 zone at $194; the final ticket was a fine to a 25-year-old male for driving at a speed greater than reasonable and safe.

A 17-year-old male was reported to be stunting in his vehicle. The complainant declined laying charges and RCMP issued a warning to the young driver.

A complaint of a semi driving erratically and having run the complainant off the road was reported. The complainant was unable to obtain a licence plate number, but did take down the name of the company from the vehicle. The company was contacted by RCMP and issued a warning for dangerous driving.

A complaint of a vehicle driving while throwing items out the window was called in, but RCMP were unable to locate the culprits.

Stolen vehicles

A vehicle was stolen from the White Bear Resort. It was later recovered in Regina where the driver was arrested and charged for outstanding incidents as well as the theft of the vehicle.

A complaint of a stolen side-by-side was reported. Patrols were made by the owner who was able to identify the subjects. The subjects were later arrested and agreed to pay for damages to the vehicle. The owner of the off-road vehicle was satisfied and no charges were laid.

Motor vehicle collisions

Three motor vehicle collisions occurred during this time. One involved a half ton that rear ended a gravel hauler which was stopped to turn. There were minor injuries. The pickup truck was heavily damaged. No charges were laid.

A vehicle backing out of a driveway was struck by a paving back hoe. There were no injuries and minor damage. No charges were laid.

A heavy equipment operator reported a truck which was struck as the operator was manoeuvring to situate itself in a strategic location to obtain fuel from the truck. The truck was struck and then slid into the mud damaging the vehicle. No other information concerning this incident was available.

Failing to appear

A female failed to appear for charges in court and a warrant has now been issued for her arrest.

Failing to comply with release conditions

Three individuals were reported to be failing to comply with release conditions including curfew and refraining from alcohol. The reports are all being investigated.

Mischief

Five reports of mischief to property were reported. The RCMP were able to resolve four, while the fifth remains under investigation. In the fifth case the complainant in Wawota reported someone entering his garden shed and taking a hammer to his riding lawn mower resulting in damages. This matter remains under investigation.

Three reports of suspicious activity were reported and are currently under investigation.
