Weekly RCMP report

Between May 3 and 9 the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 70 incidents. There were four reports of abandoned vehicles in the area. Members investigated each and found none of the vehicles were involved in other crimes.

Between May 3 and 9 the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 70 incidents.

There were four reports of abandoned vehicles in the area. Members investigated each and found none of the vehicles were involved in other crimes. The owners were all contacted and the vehicles were removed from the location.

There was one dog reported as attacking another dog in Kisbey. This matter is under investigation.

There were two assaults reported during this time. One was in a public area where two adult females had been fighting. Charges are pending in this case. The second matter involved a number of people in an altercation at a business in Arcola. Statements are being obtained and charges are pending.

An assault of a police officer occurred when a 26-year-old male had been arrested for failing to comply with court conditions. While in custody the individual assaulted an officer and will be facing charges in court.

There were three reported break-ins reported at the White Bear resort. Various items were taken from the cabins while they were unoccupied. There are currently no leads; but, the incidents are still under investigation.

A single call of disturbing the peace was reported. There was a noisy party in Arcola. RCMP attended and requested the music be turned down. There were no further calls regarding this matter.

A noise complaint in Wawota was reported. Members attended and spoke with house representatives giving them a warning under a town bylaw, though the noise had already been reduced prior to RCMP arrival.

A total of three false alarms were attended and no offences were found to have been committed.

Sixteen reported fires were called in. The majority of calls were grass fires with nothing threatened and no one injured. One of the reports was of farm equipment catching fire, which damaged the equipment considerably. Another report involved an old vacant house destroyed by fire at a rural location. There was also a farm implement that caught fire and was completely destroyed. No one was injured in these incidents.

A complaint under a town bylaw regarding a fire in somebody's yard was received. The issue was looked into and the fire had already been extinguished.

There was a report of gun shots at White Bear resort. RCMP investigated and determined someone had been setting off fireworks.

There was a complaint of theft in the Manor area. Suspects attended a gravel pit and took items including fuel, a fuel pump, and several metres of heavy copper cable. At this time the RCMP are accepting any information the community can provide regarding possible leads or suspects.

A littering complaint was received. Members investigated and discovered a young person was responsible for littering. No charges were laid and the matter was resolved outside of court.

There was a report of mischief in Arcola. Street signs were damaged by an unknown subject, who appears to be a youth. The RCMP don't have names of suspects at this time, but is under investigation.

An impaired person causing a disturbance at a residence was called in. RCMP attended though no arrests were made or charges laid.

A computer was reported as having been hacked. An investigation revealed the computer had a virus and a message asked the victim to pay $100 to a phony company. The victim wasn't out any money and the Canadian Anti-fraud Agency was contacted.

A 27-year-old female was arrested for impaired driving and will be facing charges in court.

Eight speeding tickets were issued during this time including fines of $198 to a 23-year-old male, $139 to a 32-year-old male, $138 to a 62-year-old male, $194 to a 25-year-old male, $138 to a 29-year-old male, $135 to a 19-year-old female, $133 to a 62-year-old male, and $138 to a 32-year-old male.

Two seatbelt tickets of $175 were issued; one was given to a 19-year-old male and the other to a 21-year-old male.

A 39-year-old female was ticketed for using a cell phone while operating a vehicle and fined $280.

Two licence suspensions occurred during this time one was to a 38-year-old male and the other to a 31-year-old male.

Two complaints of erratic drivers were reported. One call came from Carlyle where a driver was reported though no suspect information was given to the RCMP. The second complaint was of a driver in Redvers. The suspect was not located during patrols, but RCMP does have a name in this instance.

RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle driving through the White Bear resort. Members were unable to locate the suspicious person.

There was a complaint of a hit and run in Carlyle. The RCMP have a suspect and the matter is still under investigation.

A person attended the detachment to report they had struck a vehicle in town. The collision was minor, there were no injuries, and charges were not laid.

On May 6 RCMP responded to a motorcycle collision north of Alida. A 37-year-old male from Redvers suffered extensive injuries and was airlifted to Regina by STARS. He was treated for his injuries and is now stable. The causes of the collision are under investigation. No one else was injured.
