Weekly RCMP report

Assault

There was a dispute between two brothers which resulted in one being punched. The matter remains under investigation.

Two male youth were involved in an altercation. One youth had a knife and threatened to stab the other. There were no injuries, just a threat was made, and RCMP are investigating the situation.

Assistance

Two instances of assistance was given to the Saskatoon Police Services who required Carlyle RCMP to serve court appearances to individuals in the area.

An RCMP member on patrol was flagged down by a motorist. The individual was having medical issues and the RCMP officer stayed with the motorist until the ambulance arrived.

An elderly gentleman passed away suddenly. RCMP members assisted EMS and the funeral home. The death is not considered suspicious.

RCMP performed finger printing on six individuals. These are needed for various record checks.

A complaint of a missing youth in the Carlyle area was reported. Members attended and spoke with family members who confirmed the youth was not missing, but was staying at a friend's house.

Alcohol related calls

An intoxicated male was at a house and the owner didn't want them there. Members attended, but the individual was gone when RCMP arrived. Patrols were made, but the individual was not located.

Three impaired drivers were reported during this time. Police did conduct patrols, but were unable to locate the vehicles. RCMP do ask that people continue to report these cases and if ever possible to include a licence plate number.

In Redvers members were patrolling and while passing by the bar noticed an intoxicated male outside, standing on the sidewalk. As the members passed by the individual began yelling out obscenities. The individual was spoken with and it was concluded that he was extremely intoxicated. The person was arrested and lodged until sober.

An intoxicated person at a residence was reportedly arguing with the occupants. Police were called and attended, but the subject left the scene upon discovering the RCMP were on their way. Patrols were made; however, the individual was not located.

Intoxicated persons were yelling in the early morning hours. Neighbours complained of being woken up. The persons were asked to leave and did so without RCMP making patrols.

There were intoxicated people at a house and RCMP were called to the residence as they wouldn't leave upon the homeowner's requests. Members attended and two individuals were given verbal warnings and transported to another location.

An intoxicated person arrived at a house where they proceeded to cause a disturbance. The subjects then left the house spinning their tires and waking the neighbours. This matter is under investigation.

Failure to appear

There was a subject who didn't appear for court and in failing to do so a warrant has been issued for their arrest.

An 18-year-old male failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for their arrest.

Motor vehicle collisions

Reported along Riddell Bay in Carlyle was a hit and run. A parked vehicle was struck causing damage to the back bumper and the front driver's side was dented. This is currently under investigation.

Someone stopped at the detachment to notify the RCMP of a hit and run which occurred in Estevan at the Walmart parking lot. Their vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle, so RCMP took statements and photos to forward to Estevan Police Services.

A motor vehicle accident was reported. One vehicle was being driven when the tire rod broke. The vehicle then pulled and hit a co-workers truck. No charges were laid.

An elderly lady reported a case of fraud. She received a letter from someone in England asking for her to send certified copies of her passport, utility bills, and licence to them. The lady reported the letter because it was highly suspicious. The RCMP ask individuals to use caution before acting on letters received or other offers whether through email or over the phone. If there are any questions concerning suspected fraudulent offers or requests.

Mischief

Mischief was reported by a local business. The owner of the business had a trailer parked on the lot. Someone had come up to a trailer and cut the locks off the trailer. At the time of the incident there was nothing inside of the trailer. This matter is under investigation.

Traffic infractions

Two stop sign tickets were given out, one in Wawota to a 33-year-old male and one in Arcola to a 51-year-old male. Each one received a ticket of $230.

Numerous speeding tickets were issued during this time. A 24-year-old male was caught travelling 105km/hr in an 80km zone and was fined $135; Four males aged 54, 41, 22, and 39 were all fined $130 for travelling 100km in an 80km zone; A 27-year-old male was ticketed $139 for travelling 129 km/hr in a 100 zone; a 35-year-old male was fined $182 for travelling 111km/hr in an 80 zone; a 20-year-old male was ticketed $137 for travelling 127km/hr in a 100 zone; also speeding in a 100 zone was a 51-year-old male who was fined $186 for going 133km/hr; a 55-year-old male was fined $130 for going 80km/hr in a 60 zone; there was a 17-year-old male fined $190 for going 135km/hr in a 100 zone; two people, a 62-year-old female and a 28-year-old male, were both found travelling at 125km/hr in a 100 zone; a 55-year-old male was fined $188 for travelling at 134km/hr in a 100 zone; a 23-year-old male was ticketed $175 for going 120km/hr in a 100 zone; a 22-year-old male was fined $131 for going 121km/hr in a 100 zone; a 21-year-old male was fined $136 for travelling at 126km/hr in a 100 zone; and a 25-year-old male was fined $150 for going 130km/hr in a 100 zone.

There was a 50-year-old male who was charged with passing an emergency vehicle at greater speeds than 60km/hr. He was clocked at 89km/hr and was thusly fined $248.

A vehicle was reported for speeding, but RCMP were unable to locate it.

Bylaw complaints

RCMP addressed two bylaw complaints: the first involved a dog on the loose where the owner was spoken with and they promised to keep the animal on a leash, the second involved a vehicle which was parked illegally on the street where the owner was spoken with and the vehicle was removed.

Stunting

In Redvers a vehicle was reported as spinning doughnuts. Members attended and were unable to locate the vehicle.

Theft

Theft of 1,600 litres of fuel was reported from a lease site near Kisbey. This matter is under investigation.

Other calls

A domestic argument had members attend. A female was arrested and lodged until sober, no charges were laid.

A disqualified driver was reported. Members patrolled, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Members received a complaint regarding a surveillance camera pointing at what was believed to be into the complainant's home. RCMP investigated and found the camera to be a motion activated camera pointing at the street. Both parties involved were spoken to regarding the matter and it was determined to be a non-police issue.

Two false alarms at businesses in the area had members attend. Upon investigation there were no signs of entry.
