Between May 10 and May 16, the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 80 calls.
There was a single 911 call, which was determined to have been false with no emergency needing police assistance. A dialing problem is thought to have occurred.
Five alarm calls were responded to throughout the RCMP coverage area. All were attended and determined to be false. There had been no crimes committed.
There was a single report of an injured deer near Kenosee.
Two reports of cabins being broken into were reported. Both incidents are under investigation though RCMP do not have suspects at this time.
A break and enter was reported at a residence. Numerous items are said to have been taken. The RCMP have a suspect and are currently looking for them.
A complaint of a subject not following their undertaking conditions was reported and the matter is under investigation.
There were 13 calls regarding fires in the area. Three were reports regarding a cabin on fire at the White Bear Lake Resort. At least one cabin was completely destroyed. The rest were reported as grass fires. There were no reported damage or injuries.
There was a single complaint regarding a firearm. An individual pointed a rifle at another person. This matter is under investigation.
A complaint of littering was received within the R.M. of Brock. Members are still looking into this incident.
One call of uttering threats was received by RCMP. Members looked into the call determining the matter was unfounded and there was no threat.
Two complaints of mischief were reported. One involved intoxicated persons causing problems at a residence. The persons left prior to police arrival, which satisfied the complainant. The second report involved a person attending a residence and causing a disturbance. This incident was reported to police for information and police records only, no charges were brought.
Three assaults were responded to during this time. One involved a 45-year-old woman who was arrested for breaking into a home then assaulting two people and damaging property at the site. The woman was held in custody before being taken to court on charges. No one was seriously injured. The second assault happened in the Carlyle area, no one was injured, and it is currently under investigation. The third assault occurred at a business in Carlyle. The victim received minor injuries and wasn't in need of treatment. This matter is also still under investigation.
There was a report of an abandoned vehicle in Wawota. RCMP members checked into it and determined it had not been involved in any crime. The town decided it would have the vehicle towed from the site.
There was a call regarding a tractor parked on the side of the road at night on Highway 9 north of Carlyle. Members attended, but it was found that the tractor had been moved.
A complaint of loud motorcycles in Manor was called into the detachment. Members made patrols, but were unsuccessful in locating the motorcycles.
There was a single hit and run collision reported. The occurrence happened in a parking lot. The damage was minor, but there are no suspects at this time.
A complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 9 near Carlyle was reported. The vehicle was located and the driver was determined to be sober. SGI will be contacted about the subject's ability to safely operate a vehicle.
A possible intoxicated youth in a vehicle was reported. The driver was found to be sober and no alcohol was present. There were no charges laid.
There were three reports of impaired drivers. A 58-year-old male, a 24-year-old female, and a 21-year-old female were all arrested and will be facing charges in court.
A 21-year-old male was fined $580 for operating an unregistered vehicle.
Four stop sign tickets were issued at $230 each to a 34-year-old male, a 27-year-old male, a 37-year-old male, and a 52-year-old male.
Five speeding tickets were issued. A fine of $131 was given to a 25-year-old female, $129 to a 50-year-old male, $432 to a 42-year-old male, $139 to a 47-year-old male, and $135 to a 19-year-old male.
A complainant reported a 21-year-old male for speeding, but the complainant failed to provide a statement, so no charges can be laid.
Four seatbelt tickets were issued at $175 each to a 57-year-old male, a 43-year-old female, a 35-year-old male, and a 19-year-old male.
A 29-year-old male was issued an inspection notice for the front side window tint on his vehicle. The tint is to be removed or registration of the vehicle will not be renewed.
Two off road vehicle collisions related to the Wawota Quad Derby were reported. One involved minor injuries, while the other collision required STARS to airlift an adult male to Regina for treatment.
Four collisions were reported all regarding incidents of minor damages and no injuries.
There was a theft of a flat deck work trailer, which is currently under investigation.
Theft of money at a business in Arcola was reported. This matter is being looked into by RCMP.
Two requests to locate individuals were received by RCMP. Members safely located both people.
A complaint of a suspicious person was received. An individual was said to be jumping in and out of traffic along Highway 9 north of Carlyle. Patrols were made, but the person was not located and there were no other calls to the detachment regarding this individual.
Prevention measures included a mock collision on May 10 at the Redvers School where Redvers Fire Department and EMS also attended. Officers on quads attended the Wawota Quad Derby on May 11. A bicycle rodeo was held on May 15 at Carlyle Elementary School to teach youth about being safe while riding their bike.
