The report of this week covers the period of Dec. 3 to Dec. 9. The detachment assisted with 55 calls during that time period.

December 3

RCMP received a 911 call about a semi driving all over the road on highway #13. Members attended and located the vehicle. The semi was pulled over and the cause of the erratic driving was identified as a tire that had recently been changed.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 20-year-old male for driving 130 km/hr on highway #9 near Carlyle. The fine for the ticket was $140.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 22-year-old female for driving 110 km/hr in an 80 km/hr area on highway #9 near Whitebear First Nation. The fine for the ticket was $150.

RCMP conducted a traffic stop in Arcola where a driver was found to be intoxicated. The Arcola resident failed the roadside test and was taken to the detachment where he provided two samples, both of which were over the 0.08 limit. Subsequently, he has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while over 0.08 and operating a vehicle while impaired. The driver will be appearing in court.

During a roadside check, a 21-year-old from Carlyle appeared to be intoxicated. The driver was given the roadside test which he failed. The individual was taken back to the detachment where two samples were obtained. The driver has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while over .08 and operating a vehicle while impaired and will be appearing in court.

RCMP received a call of mischief in the area concerning an unwanted resident. Members attended and located a 40-year-old male who was arrested and lodged until sober. The individual was released in the morning with a ticket for being intoxicated in a public place under the community bylaw.

RCMP received a 911 call from the area. Police attendance was not required in the end.

December 4

RCMP received a 911 call from an anonymous male caller concerning an individual that had left Kenosee and was driving while intoxicated. When members contacted the caller for further information, the individual informed the police that the individual was no longer operating a vehicle.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 19-year-old male from Kisbey for $186 on #604 near Arcola. The individual was driving 83 km/hr in a 50 km zone.

RCMP received a call about a suspicious 19-year-old male walking in the area. Members attended and the individual was provided a ride home.

RCMP received a false alarm from the Whitebear Golf Course. Members attended and there were no signs of a break-and-enter.

December 5

RCMP received a 911 open static line call from a residence in Redvers. The property owner was contacted and SaskTel is supposed to be looking into it.

RCMP received a request from Regina Police Service for members to contact a witness from the area. Attempts were made however, the individual was not located and Regina Police Service was advised.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 38-year-old male on highway #9. The fine was $168 for driving 113 km/hr in an 80 km zone.

An individual attended to the office to obtain fingerprints that were required for immigration. Members assisted him in taking his fingerprints.

A speeding ticket was given to a 23-year-old male. The fine was $140 for doing 132 km/hr in a 100 km zone.

RCMP assisted Regina Police Service by taking a hit-and-run complaint of a vehicle that had been parked in Regina at the time of the incident. Damage was done to the front bumper. An accident form was completed and forwarded to Regina Police Service.

A hit-and-run was reported at the Bear Claw Casino parking lot. No witnesses or suspects were identified. The report was made for insurance purposes.

December 6

Police received another 911 static line from a residence in Redvers. Members contacted Sasktel to advise that this was a reoccurring incident that required attention.

A 25-year-old male was given a speeding ticket on highway #9 near Whitebear First Nation. The fine was for $137 for going 107 km/hr in an 80 km zone.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 25-year-old male in the Arcola district on highway #13. The fine was issued for $130 for doing 130 km/hr in a 100 km zone.

A 19-year-old male from Estevan was charged in Manor for driving while disqualified. The result is a mandatory court appearance.

A 911 call of a deer motor vehicle accident was reported near Carlyle. The vehicle was driveable and no injuries occurred.

RCMP received a call concerning a cattle semi truck passing vehicles while unsafe on highway #9 near Carlyle. A patrol was made however, the vehicle was not located.

December 7

A warrant was issued for a 25-year-old male from North Portal who failed to appear in court.

A warrant was issued for a 17-year-old youth who failed to attend court regarding a liquor ticket.

RCMP received a call regarding harassing phone calls between ex-partners. Both were instructed that it was a civil matter and if help was required, it would require the use of lawyers.

RCMP received a complaint from Redvers between siblings of uttering threats. Both parties were spoken to and agreements were given by both that there would be no further contact.

The detachment received a complaint of a 32-year-old male making e-brake turns at an intersection in Carlyle. The driver was issued two tickets for driving an unregistered vehicle ($580 fine) and driving without due consideration ($280 fine).

A warrant was issued for a 37-year-old male for failing to appear in court.

December 8

A 911 call was received from On Star regarding a vehicle whose air bag had been deployed near Antler. Two members attended and it was determined that the vehicle was stolen and the two individuals had fled the scene. Members spoke to individuals throughout the area. A member from Carnduff also attended to help search the area. The police dog service was requested and the area was searched with negative results. Items were obtained to be finger printed and the matter is still under investigation.

RCMP assisted Calgary Police Service in carrying out a next-of-kin notification due to a traffic collision in Calgary.

A complaint was received of a possibly impaired dangerous driver who had almost caused a head-on collision with a semi. Members attended and the driver was a 22-year-old male who provided and failed a roadside breath test. Two samples at the detachment resulted in two fails. The driver has subsequently been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and operating a motor vehicle while over 0.08, as well as being in possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana.

Members assisted with a family who was having problems with their 11-year-old son.

RCMP received a false alarm to a residence on Main Street in Carlyle. Members attended and the premise was secure with no signs of entry.

December 9

A 911 call was received from a residence in the area stating he needed EMS and police. The individual did not want to leave with the EMS but upon arrival of members, decided he would leave with EMS.

Members received a call from security personnel at a business in the area to remove an intoxicated individual from the business. Members attended but the individual had already left the premises. The matter is still under investigation as the caller wishes to lay charges.

Members attended a residence at a Pheasant Rump residence to help remove a 24-year-old intoxicated male from a residence. Members spoke to the individual that had caused the damage and no charges have been laid in the matter.

RCMP members were called to a residence in the area to remove two individuals from a house. Members attended and arrested a 20-year-old female and 41-year-old male. The male had an outstanding warrant from Carlyle and both individuals were lodged until sober. No charges were laid by the homeowner.

Two individuals called from the Carlyle area stating that an intoxicated individual was walking and they were concerned for her safety due to the cold weather. The individual was charged with being intoxicated in a public place according to the community bylaw.

RCMP received a report of an injured deer on the road. SERM was contacted to remove the wildlife.

The detachment received a false alarm from an address in Carlyle.

RCMP received a 911 hang-up call from a residence in the area. Members contacted the caller who advised he had meant to dial 411.
