Weekly RCMP report

Between Dec. 20 and Jan. 2 the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 64 calls to service. 911 calls A call originating in the Carlyle area was determined to be false. A misdial occurred from a location in Carlyle.

911 calls

A call originating in the Carlyle area was determined to be false.

A misdial occurred from a location in Carlyle.

There was a call from an outdoor phone in Redvers. The origins of the call however are unknown as RCMP attended and found no footprints to the phone in question.

A possible impaired driver north of Carlyle was reported, but RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle.

There was also a static line which came through 911 from Redvers.

Animal calls

At Kenosee Lake there was a wounded dog near the dump. Members attended, but the dog ran off before it could be caught.

A call reporting 10 horses being out along Hwy 9 was looked into by RCMP, however, members were unable to locate the animals.

Assistance

An individual living in Moose Mountain Provincial Park accidently locked their keys in their house. Members attended as did a locksmith and the situation was rectified.

A domestic argument regarding money was reported. The couple separated for the night.

In Kisbey a vehicle was reported for having struck a ditch. The driver had already arranged to have someone pull them out.

Near Pheasant Rump assistance was required by OnStar looking for a boost for an individual. RCMP were not required as a boost was found through a fellow motorist in the area.

An individual returned property to a former employer. Since the two are not on good terms the RCMP were asked to assist.

In the Carlyle area an individual was picking up their children and asked RCMP to attend to keep the peace.

Members attended a home where a youth was making up stories because they didn't want to be with their mother, but wanted to be with their father.

An individual in Carlyle requested to be put in contact with the mobile crisis worker.

A report of an individual threatening to commit suicide in the Carlyle area was spoken with and found to be calm. There were no further issues.

In Redvers a noise bylaw complaint was reported, but charges will not be persued.

An abandoned vehicle was reported for information purposes near Arcola in a ditch.

A request to locate an individual was submitted to RCMP.

False alarm

Members attended an alarm at a business in Redvers. The cause of the alarm is unknown as the building was secure.

In Wawota an alarm was set off at a business by the cleaning crew.

Fire

Near Kisbey there was a pump jack motor which caught fire. Kisbey Fire attended.

A garage fire in Arcola was reported; it is believed that a wood burning stove inside the garage was the cause.

Liquor related offences

A 46-year-old male was charged with impaired driving north of Carlyle. Also near Carlyle was a 24-year-old male charged with impaired driving. A final call regarding impaired driving was reported near Kisbey, but RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle.

A liquor ticket was issued to a 23-year-old male for being intoxicated in a public place and fined $200 in Carlyle. Another ticket was issued during this time to a 28-year-old male in Carlyle for being intoxicated in a public place; he was also fined $200.

An intoxicated individual at the Bear Claw Casino refused to leave; but, was gone before members arrived.

Mischief

A complaint of individuals being loud and boisterous in the Carlyle area was reported. No charges were laid.

There was a dent reported in the door of a grey Dodge Journey, which the owner had no idea where it had come from.

In Carlyle renters reportedly caused excessive damage within the garage. This matter is still under investigation.

A complainant called from Regina asking for members to attend a particular house in the Carlyle area where an individual was supposed to be. Upon arrival at the house members did not locate anyone.

There was an intoxicated individual reported at a residence in the Carlyle area.

An intoxicated male arguing with his brothers in Manor was removed from the house and placed in cells until sober. No charges were laid.

Traffic collisions

STARS transported an individual from near Alameda to Regina after being involved in a snowmobile accident. There was no alcohol or drugs involved and the snowmobiler is expected to recover.

Near Redvers a single vehicle collision sent two patients to the Moosomin Hospital, but they were released immediately. No charges were laid.

A traffic collision with a moose happened near White Bear. No one was injured and the moose ran off.

There was a hit and run reported at another detachment, which occurred near Carlyle to a black Chevrolet Trax.

Damage to a grey Mitsubishi Outlander was reported as a hit and run in Arcola.

A hit and run happened at Kenosee Lake where a grey Pontiac Torrent was damaged.

Icy road conditions led to a single vehicle collision with a tree in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

A vehicle struck a deer near Kisbey; no one was injured.

Traffic violations

Three speeding tickets were issued during this time. One was issued to a 25-year-old male near Carlyle for $137; a 20-year-old male near Arcola was ticketed $188; a 20-year-old male near Manor was fined $136.

A truck was found to be driving down the groomed snowmobile trails in Moose Mountain Provincial Park. The information was passed onto Saskatchewan Environment Resource Management (SERM).

An erratic driver near Wauchope was reported, but members were unable to locate the vehicle.

RCMP asks that people parking around Carlyle Elementary School refrain from parking near crosswalks as it then becomes difficult to see kids crossing the street.

A possible non-licensed driver was sought, but RCMP were unable to locate the individual.

There was a ticket issued to an 18-year-old male for driving at a speed greater than reasonable or safe for $175.

An erratic driver was located on Hwy 9 north of Carlyle. A 45-year-old was subsequently charged for driving without a valid registration at $580.

In Redvers the RCMP are investigating an incident where an individual failed to remain at an accident.

There was a dangerous driving complaint. The vehicle was not located and no licence plate number was obtained for the RCMP to follow up on.

Theft

Thefts at businesses in Carlyle and Arcola were reported. The first report was of a theft at a business in Carlyle, which is currently under investigation. The second incident involved gas being stolen at a business in Arcola, but a description of the perpetrator was not able to be given to police. The third case of theft occurred in Carlyle and was determined to be unfounded following review of video surveillance.

Miscellaneous calls to service

A suspicious vehicle was reported in Carlyle. Investigation showed the vehicle belonged to a janitor of one of the businesses.

A complaint of criminal harassment was reported in Redvers, but no charges were laid.

An individual in Arcola was reportedly failing to comply with conditions. The violations of their probation order were determined to be unfounded.

Information was given to RCMP regarding an individual going to Weyburn, which is breaching their conditions. The information was passed onto the Weyburn detachment.

Currently under investigation is a report of an individual in Carlyle failing to comply with release conditions.

Harassing phone calls to a home in Arcola from Florida associated with Magic Jack were reported. The individual has decided to change their phone number.

A call involving the utterance of threats in the Carlyle area is currently under investigation.
