For the week of, April 17 to April 24, the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP received 48 calls to service.
911
Two 911 calls were received by the RCMP and both were determined to be false in nature. The first involved children playing with the phone, while the second involved an individual who had missed court calling in and they have now been charged for frivolous use of 911 which carries with it a court appearance.
Abandoned vehicles
An abandoned vehicle was reported at Kenosee Lake. The owner was contacted and they dealt with the vehicle.
There was a vehicle reported on Hwy 9 near Carlyle. The truck was said to be parked along the highway, but patrols were unable to locate the vehicle.
Animal call
Near Manor an individual reported missing cattle. They had last seen the three black steers in August and were not sure when they went missing.
Assault
Charges were declined by the complainant in a case of assault reported in the Carlyle area.
Assistance
Carlyle RCMP assisted the Broadview detachment in executing a warrant on an individual in the area.
There was a report in the Parkman area of a minor trail derailment. There were no issues with the load being spilled, but employees at an industry there thought it best to report the incident.
A warrant was served on behalf of the Estevan Police Services in the Carlyle area.
A request to locate an individual from Wawota was called into RCMP. The individual was found safe and asked to call their mom.
Alcohol related calls
In Carlyle there was a report of a person who was very inebriated and was walking back to their hotel. The caller was worried the person walking might be hit by a vehicle. Members patrolled but did not locate anyone.
A possible impaired driver was reported near Carlyle, but members were unable to locate the driver.
In the Carlyle area a possibly impaired driver was reported. RCMP were able to locate a 62-year-old male who was charged with driving over 0.08 and for impaired operation.
There was a 22-year-old male in Redvers fined $360 for having open alcohol in a vehicle.
A 27-year-old female was given a 24 hour suspension for driving with a blood alcohol level of over 0.04.
A possible impaired driver was reported in Carlyle, but the individual was not located.
Breaking and entering
There was a breaking and entering at a cabin in the Carlyle area and it is currently under investigation.
An individual reported a breaking and entering to a property in the Carlyle area. The items taken were returned and the complainant declined to lay charges.
Harassing phone calls
A complainant reported a credit company offering lower rates on a credit card.
There were harassing text messages in the Carlyle area being sent and the complainant asked for RCMP to speak with the individual.
Mental Health Act
RCMP assisted in two cases in the Carlyle area regarding the Mental Health Act. The first file regarded concern for an individual who had said they would drive into the lake, but the person was located and was safe.
The second file required the individual involved to be taken to the hospital.
Suspicious persons
There was a report of a male in Wawota dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt who was talking to children. Members were unable to find the individual but know him as a tall, skinny male. If anyone has information pertaining to this file the RCMP ask for you to call into the detachment.
A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Carlyle area. The caller had thought it was the same vehicle as had been out earlier, but it wasn't.
Traffic offences
Ten speeding tickets were issued during this time: a 67-year-old female was fined $135, a 61-year-old male was charged $188, a 65-year-old female was fined $137, a 31-year-old male was ticketed $182, a 47-year-old female was fined $138, a 30-year-old male was charged $117, a 16-year-old female was fined $182, a 61-year-old female was ticketed $184, a 26-year-old male was fined $182, and a 30-year-old male was fined $192 for speeding but was also given a ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle which is $580.
A vehicle in Kisbey was reported as being unlawfully parked, but RCMP did not locate the vehicle.
In Redvers a 23-year-old male was fined $175 for a seatbelt ticket.
An erratic driver was reported near Arcola and was not located. A second report of an erratic driver was also received during this time near Carlyle; the individual was not located.
A 17-year old youth was arrested and charged with speeding ($206), an unregistered vehicle ($580), no drivers licence ($150), and with possession of cannabis with the purpose of trafficking which requires a court appearance.
Vehicle collisions
There was a one vehicle roll over in Moose Mountain Provincial Park when an individual swerved to avoid colliding with a deer. There were no injuries.
Another individual in Moose Mountain Provincial Park was also involved in a collision. The individual went into the ditch and hit a tree, but was not injured.
Other calls to service
A report of individuals shooting near Wawota in a rural area was called into RCMP. The individuals with firearms were target practicing, while the complainant was concerned about animals.
There was a Carbon monoxide alarm that went off at a residence in Redvers. The fire department attended, but found it was a false alarm.
Youth in Kisbey were reported for causing mischief. They were throwing rocks at a house and RCMP were able to speak with one of the individuals.
There was an attempted theft at the Carlyle Sports Arena, which is currently under investigation.
A theft of a black fit bike with blue rims was reported stolen in Redvers.
A scratch on the back of a red Ford Escape was reported. The scratch is being investigated and is thought to be mischief not a hit and run.
