The Carlyle RCMP had a slower week between May 7 and 13 with a total of 46 incidents filed.
False calls
There were three 911 calls determined to be accidental. RCMP did check with each originating site of the calls and reminded people the service is to be used for emergencies only.
Three false alarm calls were received during this time. Two were to businesses in Arcola and the third was a call to a rural area near Manor.
911 calls
Two 911 calls were received requiring RCMP assistance. Upon arrival members determined no offences had taken place, but assisted families.
Fire
A fire at a residence in Redvers was responded to. The fire started in the garage of the residence where a space heater may have been the ignition source. No one was injured and the damage was contained to the garage.
Liquor offences
A complaint of people throwing beer cans out of a vehicle in Carlyle was reported. RCMP located a 21-year-old male and charged him $360 under the Liquor Act.
An intoxicated person north of Carlyle on Highway 9 was reported. Patrols were made, but the subject was not found.
A 75-year-old male's licence was suspended for 24 hours after failing a roadside screening test.
Assisting other agencies
Weyburn Police Services are investigating a hit and run, which caused damage to a vehicle that had been parked in Weyburn. Carlyle RCMP are investigating leads in this area.
Disturbances
A resident in the Carlyle area reported unwanted people in their home. RCMP responded, but the home owner had allowed the individuals into the house, so there was no offence committed.
Intoxicated people were reported as causing a disruption at a residence in the Carlyle area. RCMP attended, but the subjects had already fled. There were no other calls regarding the subjects and no charges will be laid.
Traffic infractions
Three speeding tickets were issued between May 7 and 13 including fines of $139 to a 32-year-old male, $136 to a 43-year-old male, and $194 to a 27-year-old male.
A complaint of a speeding vehicle was reported near Arcola on the 604 grid. A description of the vehicle was supplied and the investigation is ongoing.
A 25-year-old male was fined $230 for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Erratic drivers were reported throughout the week as well. One was reported on Highway 9 south of Carlyle, but the suspect was not located by RCMP. Another call originated north of Carlyle on Highway 9, the subject was not located but the matter remains under investigation as a licence plate number was obtained and given to police. There was another erratic driver reported on Highway 13 near Manor and the suspect's licence plate number was obtained. The fourth incident regarding erratic drivers occurred on Highway 48 near Wawota where a vehicle was reportedly crossing the centre line; however, RCMP were unable to intercept the vehicle.
A complaint of a truck hauling a flat deck trailer was reported as debris was coming off of the trailer while travelling down the highway. RCMP were able to locate the vehicle and the driver secured the load.
A 23-year-old male was issued an inspection notice for front window tint to be removed from his vehicle.
Theft
A complaint of 65 chickens being stolen from a rural location near Redvers was reported.
Theft of property from a residence in Moose Mountain Provincial Park is being investigated.
Rims from a vehicle were reported as stolen from a business in Redvers. The investigation is ongoing.
A pickup truck was taken by an individual, whom is known by the RCMP and an investigation is underway.
The night of June 10 to 11 a suspect attempted and successfully stole fuel from vehicles which had been parked on the south side of Golden Heritage Court. The suspect used a siphoning hose and fuel cans to steal the fuel from at least one vehicle. The matter is under investigation.
Locating an individual
A call requesting assistance in locating a person from Manitoba who was possibly in the area was received by RCMP. Members were able to locate the individual and reunited them with family.
Suspicious people
A suspicious vehicle was reported at the White Bear Resort. RCMP obtained the licence plate number and are investigating.
Suspicious people were reported around a residence in the Carlyle district. RCMP attended and were told it was possibly youth running around. The suspects were not identified.
A complaint of suspicious people at the White Bear Resort near the beach area was called in. The caller was worried the suspicious people were going to steal fuel. RCMP attended, but no theft was discovered and the suspicious people were gone.
Collisions, no serious injuries
A single vehicle rollover near Arcola occurred when a driver lost control of a vehicle, hit the ditch, and rolled. EMS transported the driver to Arcola Hospital for minor injuries. The Fire Department also attended in order to assist. No charges were laid.
A single occupant was not injured in a single vehicle rollover that occurred near Arcola. RCMP learned the driver lost control on the gravel road.
A collision occurred on Highway 9 south of Carlyle where a single vehicle rolled. The lone occupant was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
STARS responds to ATV accident
On Thursday, June 13, two people were injured on the White Bear First Nations when the quad, four wheeled ATV, they were operating crashed. The Carlyle Fire Department and EMS services attended transporting both adult males to the Arcola Hospital to be stabilized. STARS was contacted to transport one of the individuals to Regina, while the other was transported via ambulance to Regina. The collision is still under investigation.
