Weekly RCMP report

Carlyle RCMP received 38 calls between Sept. 2 and 8. Here's a brief summary of reportable incidents. A complaint of harassing text messages was received from the Carlyle area. The matter is under further investigation at this time.

Carlyle RCMP received 38 calls between Sept. 2 and 8. Here's a brief summary of reportable incidents.

A complaint of harassing text messages was received from the Carlyle area. The matter is under further investigation at this time.

A caller complained of a loud party in the area. Members attended and the party was shut down.

An assault complaint in the area resulted in members speaking with an intoxicated male. While the matter is being investigated, no charges have been laid at this time.

A fight was reported at an entertainment facility. Five to seven people were allegedly involved in the altercation. Police were called to the scene, but the perpetrators had left by the time officers arrived.

Police were called twice in this period to Wawota Parkland School when an alarm was activated. In each case there were no suspicious circumstances.

A false alarm was investigated at a residence in Arcola. When members arrived the property owner was trying to shut the system off.

A young child mistakenly called 911 when playing with the phone.

An assault complaint was received from Kenosee Lake. The victim suffered minor injuries, and the subject of the complaint was arrested, and then released on conditions.

A complaint was received regarding vandalism at an oil battery near Kenosee Lake.

A vandalism complaint from a residence in the area resulted in police arriving after the subject of the complaint had left the area.

A 30-year-old male was fined $250 in Carlyle for walking around the town with open alcohol.

An assault complaint from the area resulted in police attending with EMS. Two males were found to be injured after fighting each other. Neither person wished to press charges.

A vehicle rolled over near Redvers, after the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The occupants received minor injuries, and no charges were laid.

A complaint of an abandoned vehicle was received near Kisbey. Members located the vehicle and then had to leave. On their return the vehicle was gone.

A caller from the area, complained about a person or persons banging on the walls and knocking on the doors of their house. Members located the subject and told him to go home.

Police were alerted to shots being fired in the area. Members attended but did not locate anyone using firearms. No further incidents were reported.

A loose Pitbull dog chased a 15-year-old girl in Carlyle. The teenager was not injured, but was frightened by the incident. A warning was issued to the dog owner.

The Carlyle detachment assisted Regina police by locating two individuals with outstanding warrants. Both were arrested and then released with documentation and further instructions.

A complaint was received regarding a possibly intoxicated driver headed north on Highway 9. The driver was located and a roadside test resulted in the 38-year-old female being given a 24-hour driving suspension.

Two "gas and dash" incidents were reported in Carlyle. In each case, persons left the scene without paying for gas they had pumped into their vehicles. Video surveillance tapes are being examined and investigations continue.

A cabin owner reported a possible break and enter at his property. Investigation determined that the door had been left unsecured and had simply blown open.

A vehicle was reported as driving at a high speed through a school zone in Arcola. Members arrived and were unable to locate the vehicle. The public are asked to be careful when driving through a school zone.

A verbal warning was given to an intoxicated person at a home in the area.

Two vehicles were involved in a collision near Forget. The first vehicle was kicking up a great deal of dust on the gravel road, and the second vehicle ran into the back of it. The incident is under investigation.

A case of fraudulent credit card use is being investigated.

A scam was reported. A person claiming to be a banker is contacting people in this area and asking for money in order to process a supposed transaction. The RCMP warns the public to be careful of such scams as they can sound legitimate.

An SUV was significantly damaged after hitting a moose on highway 13 near Carlyle. The moose was killed. The driver escaped injury.

Two cases of hit and run are currently under investigation by local RCMP members.
