Weekly RCMP report

Carlyle RCMP received 45 calls between Aug. 26th and Sept. 1st. Here's a brief summary of reportable incidents. Two 911 calls were the result of callers misdialing. A 911 caller reported firecrackers being set off in Redvers.

Carlyle RCMP received 45 calls between Aug. 26th and Sept. 1st. Here's a brief summary of reportable incidents.

Two 911 calls were the result of callers misdialing.

A 911 caller reported firecrackers being set off in Redvers. On call-back by police, they said it was now calm, no action was taken.

A 911 caller requested police assistance before hanging up the phone. Members attended and found nobody at the residence.

A 911 call was found to be the result of technical issues.

A caller from Kisbey reported a hit and run when a neighbour's dog was hit by a vehicle. No charges have been laid at this time.

Carlyle police were alerted to an assault in progress in the area. However, the operator had misunderstood local geography and local members forwarded the information to closer detachment for their attention.

An assault complaint from the area, resulted in an intoxicated person being taken to hospital and then released after treatment. The matter is under investigation.

Members rendered assistance to a member of the public whose truck had broken down at Kenosee Lake. A tow-truck was called to the scene.

A 911 call was received from the local area with regard to cardiac arrest. Members attended with EMS, and the 64-year-old female was taken to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

A complaint was received regarding a fight in Kisbey. Members attended but did not locate the subjects of the call.

A false alarm was reported in Kisbey. It was found that wind was blowing an unsecured door open.

A caller told police that a propane tank was on fire on their barbecue. The Redvers fire Department attended and reported no injuries or property damage.

A call was received regarding a battery fire at an oil facility north of Kisbey. The most likely cause is currently considered to be Lightning strike.

A caller reported a possibly impaired driver on highway 13. Members were unable to locate the vehicle. A similar report was received from Kenosee Lake, with the same result.

A caller reported a possibly impaired driver heading towards Wawota. Members on patrol located the vehicle parked at a private residence in Wawota, but no charges were laid as it would be difficult to prove who the driver was.

An intoxicated person was arrested in Kenosee Village and lodged in cells till sober. Charges are pending.

A hit and run was reported after a vehicle was found to be damaged in Carlyle. There were no witnesses and there are no suspects.

A senior citizen called into the detachment to report that they had accidently backed into another vehicle. A report was made for insurance purposes and no charges were laid.

A complaint of theft was received from Redvers. Police attended and determined the incident to be a domestic, civil matter which did not require further action on their part.

A caller requested that an intoxicated person be removed from a residence. Members arrested the individual and placed them in cells until sober. Charges are pending.

Police were requested to patrol empty buildings in Carlyle, following a call from a person who suspected that someone was living in the property. Police did not locate anyone in the buildings and the caller was notified.

A truck was reported as stolen. It was located in trees just off the Christopher Trail and required towing due to damage. The matter is being investigated.

A vehicle roll-over was investigated. There was no evidence of careless driving or alcohol. No charges were laid and there were no injuries.

A caller complained to police that they'd been receiving threatening text messages. Members checked on the complainant several times to make sure they were doing fine, their actions were greatly appreciated by the person.
