Weekly RCMP report

The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 41 calls between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6. 911 calls A call came in from Arcola which was determined to be a misdial. The detachment was contacted by the caller and confirmed that there was no problem.

A call came in from Arcola which was determined to be a misdial. The detachment was contacted by the caller and confirmed that there was no problem.

Assault

In the local area there was a report of an assault where the accused was on condition to not consume alcohol and to keep the peace. He however breached those conditions and was charged with assault. He was arrested and held in a cell until he was sober and was released before a Justice of the Peace.

Assistance to the public

In the local area, assistance was given to the general public when a worried complainant asked the RCMP to check on the well-being of a family member. A call was received from the ambulance that was stuck in a ditch requesting numbers for a tow vehicle. The number was provided.

Hit and Run

In Arcola there was a complaint of a hit and run to a vehicle parked at the Arcola Hospital. There are no suspects and the matter is currently under investigation.

False Alarm

Four false alarms occurred during the period, two in Carlyle, one each on Pheasant Rump and Arcola. All were checked and found to be secure.

Impaired Driving

There was a complaint of an impaired driver, members attended and found the accused passed out behind the wheel in ditch. The individual was placed under arrest and had a breath test between 230 and 240. The individual was held overnight and released in the morning. The matter is in court.There was anonymous call reporting an impaired driver. Checks were made but the vehicle was not located.

MischiefThere was a complaint of mischief in the local area involving someone wanting an intoxicated individual to leave their home. The person agreed to leave and no further action was required.

Traffic InfractionsNine tickets were issued during the period for speeding.

In Carlyle a 25-year-old male was fined $206 for speeding after doing 143km.In Carlyle a 32-year-old female was fined 188 for doing 134km.In Redvers a 24-year-old male was fined $188 after doing 95km in a 60km zone. In Arcola a 37-year-old female was fined $204 after doing 142km. In Arcola a 52-year-old female was fined $234 for doing 82km in a 60km zone and speeding pass an emergency vehicle with its light activated.In Arcola an 18-year-old female was fined fine $140 for doing 83km in a 60 zone speeding pass an emergency vehicle.A 22-year-old male, was fined $204 for speeding after doing 142km in ArcolaIn Arcola a 43-year-old male was fined $138 for doing 128km.A 42-year-old male was fined $242 for doing 86km in a 60 zone and speeding pass an emergency vehicle.In Carlyle a seat belt ticket issued, the individual was fined $175.

Erratic driving

There was complaint of an erratic driver speeding, passing when unsafe in Kenosee Lake. Checks were made but members were unable to locate the vehicle.An off duty RCMP member observed a vehicle speeding and driving unsafe. The officer contacted an on duty member who attended and located the vehicle and issued tickets for speeding and driving without reasonable consideration for others. The driver received a $450 fine and another for $280 fine. The individual was speeding at approximately 160km. There was a complaint of a possible impaired driver driving erratically. The driver was located and was not impaired but given a verbal warning about their driving habits.

There was a complaint of a small white car driving erratically near Carlyle. Checks were made but the vehicle was not located.There was also complaint of a yellow truck driving erratically. Checks were made but they were unable to locate the vehicle.There were complaints of a green Chevy pick-up driving erratically but members were unable to locate the vehicle.

Theft

There was a report of theft of gas in Redvers; the driver filled their vehicle with gas amounting to $117. The matter is still under investigation.

Failure to attend court

A warrant was issued for arrest of a male who failed to attend court. He was to attend court for driving while suspended.

Suspicious person

There was a complaint of a suspicious person in the local area. Checks were made and a male was found sleeping in his car and was found to be safe.

Other complaints

In Carlyle a collision occurred and one driver was found to have an unregistered vehicle and was charged.An abandon vehicle was found in Manor and towed.

In Carlyle there was a complaint of a breech, member attended and gave the accused a verbal warning.

In Redvers during a routine patrol a driver was located a driving while their license was suspended. A ticket issued.

Member on patrol in Redvers located a driver operating a unregistered vehicle. The driver was fined $580.
