The Carlyle RCMP Detachment received 63 calls to service during the week of Aug. 22 though Aug. 28.
911
The Carlyle Detachment responded to a 911 call from the Redvers area, reporting a concern regarding two vehicles transferring nitrogen from one tanker to another. This is still under investigation.
One 911 call from Manor was determined to be a SaskTel problem, while four calls with static lines (one an abandoned 911 call) were received from the same residence in Carlyle.
Six additional abandoned 911 calls were received by the Carlyle detachment. Members attended them all and found: two separate calls in Carlyle were the result of children playing with the phone(s), two calls from separate residences were static lines, one from Moose Mountain Provincial Park was a hang-up and one from the Forget area was of undetermined cause, but found not to be the result of an emergency.
Alarms
Two separate false alarms originated from two separate businesses in Redvers. In each case, business representatives cancelled the RCMP's responses.
One alarm was also reported in Carlyle. It was the result of the owner not having the proper code to reset.
Members also attended another false alarm in Carlyle, where everything appeared to be secure.
Animal calls
The RCMP were called by a complainant concerned about a pitbull running loose. The owners attended and took care of the dog.
Assistance
Members attended to a request for assistance in the Carlyle area regarding a custody issue.
The Ministry of Justice requested the service of subpoenas. Members carried out this request.
Members completed a welfare check in Carlyle and found all to be well.
In the Carlyle area, a third-party report of an individual attempting suicide resulted in members performing a welfare check. The individual in question was found to be fine.
An individual was reported to be unlawfully in a dwelling in Carlyle. Members attended, but the owner declined to pursue any charges.
A landlord-tenant complaint from Redvers regarding damage being caused to property was attended to by members from the Carlyle detachment. As a result, the parties involved were referred to and advised to use the Landlord-Tenant Act.
Assaults
Members responded to two separate incidents in Redvers. Both are still under investigation.
In Arcola, a report of assaults resulted in members attending. The victims declined to pursue charges, however.
In the Carlyle area, a report of an assault with a weapon involving a youth under the age of 12 was determined to be an accident by RCMP members attending.
The report of an assault in the Carlyle area resulted in the complainant declining to pursue any charges.
Alcohol-related Calls
A 21-year-old male was charged at Kenosee Lake with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level of over 0.08.
Patrols were made as the result of a report of a possibly impaired driver in Arcola. However, no impaired driver was located.
In the Carlyle area, members attended after a report of an intoxicated individual causing difficulties in a residence was received.
A report of an intoxicated individual at a business in Carlyle resulted in RCMP members charging a 50-year-old male with being intoxicated in a public place.
Members attended after receiving a report of a possibly-impaired driver on Hwy 13.
Abandoned vehicle
A report of an abandoned vehicle parked on the side of the road on Hwy 13 near Kisbey resulted in members attending.
Traffic infractions and complaints
A 17-year-old youth was charged with obstructing a peace officer during a vehicle stop in Carlyle.
A traffic complaint near Carlyle on Hwy 13 resulted in an investigation of uttering threats.
In Carlyle, as the result of a roadside suspension, a 58-year-old male's driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.
A report of an erratic driver using their cell phone while driving resulted in no charges, because the complainant was unwilling to provide a statement to RCMP.
A report of a hit-and-run in Carlyle in which a gray 2010 GMC Sierra was damaged is still under investigation.
A report of an erratic driver on Hwy 13 near Arcola is still under investigation.
An erratic driver was reported near Kisbey.
Motor-vehicle collisions
A two-vehicle collision north of Carlyle on Hwy. 9 resulted in a 60-year-old female sustaining injuries. This accident is still under investigation by the RCMP.
Members attended a motor-vehicle collision at Kenosee Lake. This accident is under investigation.
In a motor-vehicle collision near Wawota, a vehicle hit a street light. This accident is under investigation.
A traffic collision with a deer on Hwy 9 near Carlyle resulted in no injuries.
A report of an individual being struck by a vehicle in the Carlyle area is still under investigation by the RCMP.
Theft
A break and enter resulting in the theft of alcohol in the Carlyle area is still under investigation.
Members are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle in Arcola, in which a wallet, keys, and cigarettes were stolen.
Near Forget, RCMP members responded to the reported theft of a rock-picker. This matter is under investigation.
Members attended to a report of the attempted theft of a motor vehicle in the Carlyle area.
The report of theft at a business in Carlyle is under investigation.
Members attended to a report of a theft of a bicycle in Carlyle. The bicycle was located and the complainant did not want to pursue any charges.
Harassment
A report of criminal harassment involving internet use by an individual in Arcola was investigated by members. The investigation is complete, but unsolved.
A report of harassing phone calls in Kisbey is still under investigation.
Members attended to a report of harassing phone calls in the Carlyle area. The complainant declined to pursue charges.
Fraud
An individual from Forget reported an attempted incident of telephone fraud to the Carlyle detachment.
Mischief
RCMP received two calls involving the same individual at White Bear Lake Resort, who was refusing to leave the campground. Members attended both times and kept the peace.
In Redvers, members attended a mischief complaint and subsequently determined the complaint was unfounded.
Fire
A fire was reported south of Carlyle at a battery site. Carlyle Fire & Rescue responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Other calls to service
Members attended to the report of a suspicious individual in Wawota. The individual was located and spoken to by the RCMP. No charges resulted.
Near Arcola, two individuals were arrested for their recognizance out of Edmonton.
A report of shots being fired in the Carlyle area resulted in members attending and determining the noises were fireworks.
