The weekly report is prepared with the assistance of the Carlyle RCMP. Issues involving the Mental Health Act, among others, are not reported.

The report of this week covers the period of Oct. 14 to 21. The detachment assisted with 66 calls during that time period.

October 14

RCMP responded to a 911 call in the area. The complainant was calling regarding a vehicle that was driving around shooting at houses. No indication of damaged houses was found. The investigation is on-going.

A 911 call resulted in a complaint of someone uttering threats against a person in the area. The call was disconnected, members patrolled and no one was located.

The detachment received a complaint of a speeding vehicle. Members patrolled and the vehicle was found in Carlyle where the driver was given a warning.

Members received a complaint of mischief in the area. Two intoxicated individuals were fighting in the house and the owner requested assistance in removing them. Members attended.

A complaint of theft in the area was received. The matter is on-going.

RCMP received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from the area. This matter is still under investigation.

A 911 call was received from a female. The call was disconnected and no location related information was provided.

October 15

RCMP received two noise complaints from the area concerning a vehicle that was driving around. Patrols were made and no vehicle was located.

Members attended a 911 call in the area concerning an individual that was possibly intoxicated and was staggering on the road. Members attended but were unable to locate the individual.

A complaint of mischief to a vehicle was received from Arcola. The caller's son's truck had the back window smashed out in the middle of the night. The matter is continuing.

RCMP received a complaint of suspicious people in Carlyle. A group of teens were walking into businesses and harassing the staff. The matter is ongoing.

A call was received from a woman who requested a well-being check on her 75-year-old mother. The individual hadn't heard from here for a while and wanted to ensure that she was alright. Members attended and the elderly woman was located.

Members attended a call regarding an assault in the area. The 20-year-old female was found hiding in the bush near a house and was arrested for outstanding warrants from Regina and Carlyle. While investigating the assault, the female did not want to provide a statement and the investigation was dropped.

RCMP responded to a 911 call concerning an assault. The individual was jumped from behind by two unknown males.

The detachment received an anonymous call concerning a car that was driving around shooting paintballs in Wawota. Patrols were made, the vehicle was found and the paintballs were seized. The complainant decided not to lay charges if the mess was cleaned up before complaints were received. The individuals responsible agreed to clean it up.

RCMP received a call of an unwanted person at a residence in the area. Members attended and a 25-year-old male was removed from the residence.

October 16

The detachment received an alarm call from a business in Carlyle. The call turned out to be a false alarm as the employees were opening the location for business and had entered the wrong code.

Members initiated an uttering threat against a person file. The complainant wanted members to check if someone was at his residence. Members attended and no one was there. The matter was family-related and concluded at the request of the individual.

October 17

Members received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The caller believed it was the same vehicle that was responsible for the disturbance on Oct. 14. Members patrolled but no vehicles were found.

A false alarm was received from a business in Arcola.

The detachment received an open line call from a residence in the area. The call was patched through to police dispatch, but nothing was heard. The call was a false alarm and a result of kids playing with the telephone.

Police received a 911 call from the area. Children could be heard playing in the background. The call was a false alarm as it was the result of mistakenly hitting the direct 911 button on the telephone.

The RCMP received an anonymous of an unregistered vehicle driving around the Wawota.

October 18

The detachment received a complaint from a resident of Wawota. The individual stated their credit card had been used by someone else. The credit card has been canceled and investigation into the fraud is ongoing.

RCMP received a call regarding a vehicle fire in the Alida district. A pick-up truck had burned north of Alida. No evidence of suspicious activity was found at the scene. It is suspected that the hot engine ignited the grass, which started the fire.

Members attended a complaint from a business owner in Redvers who complained of mischief. An individual was refusing to leave the business. While en route, the individual did leave and no charges were laid in the matter.

A complaint was received of an individual under the influence of drugs northwest of Kisbey. The caller advised that he had been speaking with the battery driver and the driver appeared to be influenced by something. Members attended however, the truck was not located.

A false alarm from the school in Wawota was received. The building was being used for a firearms safety classes. No suspicious activity was found.

The detachment received a complaint of harassing phone calls being made to an individual in Wawota. The investigation is ongoing.

A report was made of a hit and run that occurred in Carlyle in the third week of February. The report was required for insurance purposes.

A 911 misdial occurred when a 12-year-old female sat on the phone by accident in Wawota.

October 19

RCMP received a complaint of trash being dumped on some land near Kisbey. The matter is still under investigation.

The detachment received a call regarding a call of assault that occurred in Manor. No serious injuries were found and no charges were laid.

A call was received regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle that was stopping in front of people's houses in addition to running a four-way stop in Kenosee Lake. The vehicle turned off at Arcola and police are still following up on the matter.

A complaint was received concerning paintballing that occurred in Wawota. The caller reported that paintballs were shot at her house. The investigation is ongoing.

RCMP received a 911 call from the school in the area. When the power went out at the school, the alarm automatically sends a 911 message. No assistance was required.

October 20

A call was received regarding a theft of 600 metres of wiring and a generator set in the Wawota area. The material went missing from the construction site. The investigation is continuing.

A request was made by a female in the area for assistance in retrieving her belongings from a residence.

A complaint of an unwanted individual in a residence in the area was placed. The individual was intoxicated, however had already left the residence.

RCMP received a call from an individual in Redvers that believed they were being targeted by a scam. The caller didn't believe that he had lost any money as of yet, but had already sent money to a shipping company in the United Kingdom.

The detachment received a call from an individual who was concerned that they had been involved in a Nigerian scam. The individual requested that members speak to him about the possible scam. This is not the first time the individual has been involved in the scam. Members spoke to family members.

October 21

RCMP received a false alarm from the Co-op in Arcola.

The detachment received a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 9. The complainant said the vehicle was flashing their lights on and off and trying to run them off the road. Members attended and were unable to locate the vehicle. Members contacted the registered owner and the owner said he was having headlight trouble. The owner of the vehicle was told to fix the headlights. No charges were laid.

A complaint of a strange gas smell between Kisbey and Arcola was received. SaskEnergy was contacted and the situation was assessed. Members attended.

A call regarding a possible breach of the peace was received. RCMP attendance was requested after a text had been received concerning an altercation at a residence in the area. When the RCMP arrived at the residence, no one would talk to police. A 21-year-old male was arrested and taken to cells where he was kept until sober.

RCMP received a complaint of theft of under $5,000. Rebar was taken from the construction site in Carson Bay. The theft occurred over the weekend and the report was being made for information purposes. No investigation was required.

A complaint was filed of false pretenses in Redvers. In this circumstance, a credit card number was given and when the payment was to be processed, the individual was told that the account had been closed. The matter is ongoing.

RCMP received a request for assistance from the Regina Police Service. The request concerned a letter that was sent to a law firm which threatened an individual. At this point, the RCMP is still providing assistance.

The detachment received a false alarm from near Wawota. The building's alarm was accidently set off by the owner.
