The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 99 calls over the week of June 29 - July 5. Calls on the 29th began with members receiving a request from the area to locate a missing person.

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 99 calls over the week of June 29 - July 5.

Calls on the 29th began with members receiving a request from the area to locate a missing person.

Members were able to later locate the individual, who was in another community in the province.

A complaint was received detailing what appeared to the caller to be a domestic assault.

The caller reported seeing a man and a woman fighting in a car parked alongside a road.

Members patrolled, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

A call was made to the detachment reporting an individual attempting to gain access to parked trucks in the area.

The caller stated they saw the individual trying the doors on several vehicles, and then the caller chased the subject from the area.

The subject was not located by police.

Members attended a residence in the area pursuant to a request to remove an intoxicated person from the premises.

Attending members located the subject of the complaint, who was taken into custody and lodged in cells overnight.

The subject was released in the morning with no charges.

A call reporting an assault at a residence in the area was received by members.

Attending members found the victim with a laceration above the eye, and saw the victim transported by EMS to Arcola Health Centre for treatment.

Two individuals were arrested at the scene, a 46-year-old female and a 41-year-old male.

The two were held overnight on mischief charges, however police cannot move forward with the charges at this time.

An anonymous call was received at the detachment reporting two individual stumbling along Highway 13 near Carlyle.

Responding members located two intoxicated males matching the subject descriptions, and took them into custody.

A 54-year-old male and a 49-year-old male were both held in cells until sober and released without charges.

Two 911 calls in a row were received from two different locations, both proving to be dialed by unattended young children.

Members rendered assistance to the courts by servicing a subpoena to an individual for a court date in Saskatoon to a 21-year-old male.

An individual attended the front desk of the detachment to report their vehicle had been vandalized overnight.

Members took the person's statement, however there are no suspects at this time.

Regina Police Service (RPS) requested assistance from Carlyle members in locating a young male who was thought to be in the area.

The individual was discovered by members, and the youth was turned over to First Nation Child and Family Services (FNCFS) for care.

Members responded to a report of an unsteady male across the street from the liquor store in Carlyle.

When members arrived they discovered a 41-year-old male asleep on Main Street.

The male was taken into custody on a charge of public intoxication, and fined $200.

The individual also had outstanding warrants, and was released from cells when sober.

A car owner reported to the detachment that their vehicle had been vandalized sometime over the previous day.

The vandals had used a key or sharp object to carve foul language and other things into the paint of the vehicle.

The case is under investigation.

Members attended to a call of uttered threats.

Upon reviewing the material the complainant provided, members could not identify statements that would match the criminal code definition of a threat, and informed the complainant of such.

The case is considered closed.

A 911 call reporting a deer/vehicle MVC was received at the detachment.

The collision, which occurred in the locale of Antler, left the vehicle in a much damaged state.

Members arranged for a tow truck and set up a file for insurance purposes.

There were no injuries in the collision.

The first call on June 30th led to a 57-year-old male being jailed for a short time for public intoxication.

Members responded to a report of a suspicious male in the town of Wawota, and came upon an individual matching the subject description who was in an extreme state of intoxication.

The individual was taken to cells and charged with public intoxication, fined $200, and was released when sober.

A report was received from a tourist who had two bicycles stolen from their camper during a stop-over at a campground in the area.

The complainant reported the bikes were left outside the camper overnight, and were gone in the morning.

The report was for information purposes.

Members responded to the call of an unwanted individual at a residence in the area.

When members arrived they located a 33-year-old woman who matched the subject of the complaint at the residence.

The woman willingly stood up and left when asked by police, and seemed quite sober to members.

Nonetheless she was transported to a family member's residence and left in their care.

Members received a call from a residence reporting a domestic disturbance in the area.

Members spoke with the complainant who said the subject of the complaint was arguing with a spouse and sister, was intoxicated, and the complainant requested the individual be taken into custody.

After further investigation, members discovered the subject of the complaint was the resident at the home in question, and informed the complainant that, unless there was a criminal act, they could not 'pick up' the subject.

A 911 call was received reporting a domestic dispute in the area, with one of the parties threatening to burn everything, and was alleged to have hit another individual in the face with a baseball bat.

Responding members found a male and female at the residence, and separated them to speak with each individually.

The male admitted to hitting the female with a bat, however he stated he was holding the bat and the female, while trying to pull the bat away from him, pulled the bat into her own face.

The female provided corroborating information, stating the strike from the bat was accidental, due to her pulling the bat from the male.

As the two were calm and rational following speaking with police, the matter is considered closed.

The first call on Canada Day came reporting a vehicle fire on the shoulder of Highway 9 near Kenosee Lake.

The fire, which consumed the vehicle, was attended by Kenosee Lake fire services.

The fire appeared to be non-suspicious in nature, with the owner reporting mechanical problems previous to the fire.

Members responded to a call from the community of Redvers, where it was reported that a 100-year-old female had been loaded onto the bed of a pick-up truck in her wheelchair by her 70-year-old son for transport to a party in the town.

Members spoke with the driver and issued warnings about safe transportation.

A 911 hang-up call proved to be a misdial when members contacted the caller back.

Members were called from Arcola Health Centre to render assistance to an individual who had just been released from care.

The staff was concerned about the individual, who lacked a vehicle, walking many miles to get back to their home community.

A complaint was received of a domestic dispute where the caller stated their partner had hit him and fled the residence with the children.

Members called the residence back and attended the home, but were unable to make contact with the individual until the following day.

When they did the individual stated they no longer wished to pursue charges against the partner.

A 911 call was received reporting a male beating a female at the Western Star Hotel in Carlyle.

Members attended but were unable to locate the reported couple.

A report was received by members detailing a party at a residence that the homeowner wanted police assistance in breaking up.

Members attended and ensured all persons had left the abode.

A report of a break-and-enter at Fish Creek in Moose Mountain Provincial Park proved to be a case of a mis-latched door, following a brief investigation of the scene by members.

July 2nd saw members attending a residence in Arcola to check on an individual who was under court-mandated conditions.

The individual was found not to be at their home at a time that was after their court-set curfew, so charges of failure to comply have been laid.

A call was received by an individual in Kisbey reporting people setting off fireworks in the town.

After searching the municipal bylaws, members were unable to find any legislation that would make using fireworks within the town unlawful.

The complainant was contacted and so informed.

Members opened a file into a report of an aggressive driver who acted in a harassing manner on Highway 9, south of Carlyle.

The report was sent in by Estevan Police Service, where the complainant came to report the incident.

The report detailed the subject vehicle speeding and slowing in front of the complainant's vehicle, repeatedly creating a situation the complainant viewed as dangerous and inflammatory.

The matter is under investigation.

A complaint was received of a break-and-enter at a commercial concern in Wawota.

The business had been broken into, and cash stolen from the premises.

The matter is under investigation.

A report of mischief was reported from Redvers, in the form of vehicle vandalism.

The four tyres on the vehicle were slashed in the incident.

A complaint was received from the community of Carlyle regarding two individuals who appeared on the complainant's doorstep asking permission to steal the vehicle at the residence.

The two, who were clearly intoxicated, left the premises when the resident refused permission for the car to be stolen.

Members patrolled, but were unable to locate the subjects.

A report of uttering threats was received by the detachment.

After examining the texts in question, members ascertained the statements did not meet the criminal definition of a threat, as laid out in legislation.

The matter is considered closed.

A report was made of person lighting off fireworks near the overflow in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

The caller stated the individuals involved with the activity were intoxicated.

Members informed Conservation Officers, however patrols failed to locate the subjects.

July 3 calls began with two related 911 calls.

The first call reported a suspicious male travelling alongside Highway 9, covered in blood.

The second call, which came a short time later, was from a woman who reported a family member had come to the residence reporting he had been stabbed during an altercation.

The caller stated she was afraid of what would happen as the victim had taken a large knife from the house and left, stating he was heading back to where the altercation had taken place.

Investigation into the matter is ongoing.

A caller requested police assistance at their residence as an intoxicated individual was outside the door pounding and demanding entry.

Members responded to find the subject of the complaint had left before they arrived.

As the members departed the scene, they were called again by the complainant and informed the subject had returned to the home.

Members turned about and headed straight back, and located an individual in a state of intoxication.

The subject claimed she was attempting to retrieve personal goods from the home, however police arrested the 42-year-old female for mischief charges, and she was transported to cells.

A 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance drew members to a residence near Redvers.

There, they confronted an individual who was accused of threatening his spouse and her brother.

Members found the subject of the complaint calm, who showed members that he had moved his spouse's goods to the doorstep in bags.

The complainant agreed to leave the home overnight to allow things to cool off.

A false alarm was received from a residence in Manor, where alarm company staff had been working on the alarm system.

A report was made of a lost or stolen LG Android phone, which was either dropped or taken on Main Street in Carlyle across from Carlyle Bakery.

A 911 call was received by the detachment reporting a 'large boulder,' on Highway 9, south of Carlyle.

Members attended and discovered a rock with the approximate dimensions of 4" x 4" x 3".

The rock was removed, and the caller contacted and informed that the event did not constitute a 911 emergency, and to use 911 only in a pressing emergency.

A citizen attended the front desk of the detachment to report their vehicle had been vandalized by 'keying' in front of the Over 60 Club in Manor.

A call of an intoxicated male heading westbound on Highway 13 from Arcola was received.

Members attended and located a 50-year-old male in a state of intoxication walking along the roadside.

The man was taken into custody and held until sober, being charged for public intoxication, and fined $200.

July 4 began with an accidental 911 call made by a member of the detachment.

The member, who was assisting with a sudden-death in the town of Carlyle, was attempting to access phone messages on the victim's telephone, and accidently hit the 911 speed-dial button.

A 911 hang-up call was received from a pay-phone in Wawota.

A two-vehicle MVC was reported, where a motorhome backed into a GMC Jimmy.

Damage was light with no injuries report, so members opened a file for insurance purposes.

Members provided assistance to an individual who needed fingerprints taken for employment purposes.

A complaint of a domestic assault in the area near Antler is under investigation.

An accusation of uttered threats in Manor has also led to an open investigation.

A false alarm was reported from the town of Carlyle at a business in the community.

The cause of the alarm was discovered to be an electrical storm.

Calls on July 5 began with a report of a wallet being lost in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

Members provided assistance through advice to an individual seeking information about a reportedly illegal eviction notice.

Members directed the caller to the Saskatchewan Residential Tenancy offices.

A caller contacted police to request a change of court-mandated conditions following an eviction.

Members informed the caller that changes to conditions have to be done through the courts, and to contact his lawyer for more details.

A caller requested police assistance in removing an intoxicated individual from the area.

Members attended and removed a male from the residence, taking the subject to cells and charging him under the White Bear Band bylaw for disorderly conduct.

A caller from Redvers reported vandalism to a vehicle owned by the complainant's son.

The vehicle had been 'keyed,' with vulgarisms scratched into the paint of the vehicle.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

A 911 call reporting an MVC near the Arcola Co-op Gas Bar was received.

A vehicle passing an earth-mover had struck the blade of the heavier vehicle.

No injuries were reported, and the matter is under investigation.

A person attended the detachment front counter to report a MVC that occurred on a grid road near Arcola.

The individual informed members that he had hit the back of a gravel truck at a low relative rate of speed and damaged his vehicle.

Members opened a file for insurance purposes.

Another person attended the detachment to report the theft of a generator and copper wire from their yard.

The complainant, who is a resident in Carlyle, was questioned and a statement taken for the investigation into the matter.

A report of an MVC was received from the Co-op in Carlyle where one vehicle 'bumped' another vehicle in the parking lot.

The caller was told to contact their insurance agents, as the damage was minimal and there were no injuries reported.

Members provided assistance to RPS by serving a warrant.
