Weekly RCMP report

The report of this week covers the period of April 1 to April 7. The detachment assisted with a number of calls.

April 1, 2011

RCMP received a complaint from an individual in Wawota in a family dispute. The complainant wanted to have the incident reported and documented.

A 24 year-old male was given a $175 seatbelt ticket in the town of Carlyle.

Members attended a call of emergency where a patient was complaining of chest pain. RCMP attended and spoke with the complainant. EMS attended the scene and the individual refused assistance. The individual was intoxicated.

RCMP received a request to locate an individual that had started walking home. The caller was concerned that the individual was not properly dressed for the weather. The RCMP patrolled the area and located the individual.

A 46 year-old male was given a $280 ticket for talking on his cell phone while driving in the town of Carlyle.

RCMP attended a false alarm at the Carlyle high school.

RCMP received a call from a complainant in the town of Redvers requesting that the town be patrolled due to a lot of impaired driving and squealing of tires occurring within the town limits. Members patrolled the area, traffic was observed and no problems were noted.

A 53 year-old female was given a $230 ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign in Carlyle.

Members responded to a 911 call from the area. RCMP attended to the scene where two individuals claimed to be play fighting and spoke with the complainant, an intoxicated female, who was provided a ride to another house. No charges were laid.

RCMP received a call for general assistance to the public in the area. Members attended.

A report of theft from a business in Carlyle was received. The individual stated that tools had been stole from the business over a period of time. This matter is still under investigation.

A 16-year-old male in the town of Carlyle was warned about seat belt use.

RCMP received a report of theft at the carwash at Redvers. The matter is ongoing.

April 2, 2011

RCMP received a complaint of assault from an individual within the area. Members attended and it was determined to be a consensual fight. No charges were laid.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 33 year-old male on Highway 13 near Arcola. The individual was given a $200 fine.

RCMP received a 911 call that advised that an individual had had a seizure while driving, and had driven his van into the ditch on Highway 13 near Manor. The driver was taken by EMS to Arcola hospital where he remained over night for observations. No charges were laid.

An individual at White Bear resort contacted the RCMP regarding tracks in the snow to a vacant cabin. The area was patrolled and it was noted that two cabins were broken into. A 35 year-old male was located and has since been charged with breaking and entering to the two properties.

A 26 year-old male was charged with driving without reasonable care for others due to an incident that occurred the previous day in Wawota. He was alleged to have driven his truck through a large puddle splashing a number of people on purpose. He was fined $280.

or a single motor vehicle accident on Highway 13 one mile west of Carlyle. Members attended and a ticket of $100 was issued to a 45 year-old male for driving at a speed beyond reasonable and safe.

RCMP received a request for assistance with a domestic issue. Members attended and advised the person removing the property to leave the property at the request of the owners. No charges were laid.

April 4, 2011

RCMP received a 911 call from the area of an intoxicated individual kicking the door and trying to get into a house. Members attended and the individual was taken to a relative's house and instructed not to return until sober.

A complaint was received of an abandoned vehicle, located 2 miles north of the Casino. Members contacted the registered owner who advised the RCMP that the vehicle would be removed by noon.

RCMP received a report of theft of fuel from a well site located nine and a half kilometers south or Forget. The matter is still under investigation.

An individual contacted the RCMP regarding an intoxicated individual walking down Highway 9, just north of Carlyle. Members attended and found the subject sitting on the side of the road with gross signs of intoxication. The 18 year-old was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in the cell until sober. The subject is to appear in court.

April 5, 2011

A complaint was received from the area of a group of intoxicated young people kicking a van and an intoxicated 38 year-old female in the house. Members patrolled and the female was arrested. The youth had left the premises. No charges were laid.

The RCMP assisted the coroner with a sudden death that occurred in the rural area near Carlyle. No evidence of foul play was found.

A call was received indicating there was a 26 year-old male was lying in the middle of the road within the area. Members attended and located the individual who was turned over to a family member. No charges were laid.

RCMP attended to a motor vehicle accident in Arcola. The driver of the vehicle had hit a tree. EMS attended and the individual had minor injuries. The 22 year-old male was charged with stunting and driving while his license renewal was refused.

A complaint of an individual who may be hauling grain on Highway 605 in violation of the road bans in effect was called in to the detachment. Investigation is on-going.

RCMP received report of an abandoned car on Highway 13 near Arcola. The Department of Highways will be towing the vehicle.

April 6, 2011

RCMP received a complaint of mischief and damage to a vehicle in Kisbey. The owner of the vehicle left his keys in the truck in the parking lot. Two youth got in the truck and started it but were scared away by the neighbor. The complainant requested that the police speak with the kids.

A 911 call was received as a result of play fighting at the Arcola bar. The individual had the wind knocked out of him. Members attended, contacted EMS and transferred the individual to the hospital. The matter is still under investigation.

In the Carlyle area, RCMP members received a call of assault. The male was removed from the house. No charges were laid.

A complaint of theft from a business in Carlyle was received. A former employee left with documents that the business required. The matter is on-going.

RCMP received a call from the area complaining about an intoxicated individual. The individual was not arrested as he was intoxicated in his own home.

April 7, 2011

RCMP received a complaint of erratic driving on Highway 13 between Manor and Redvers. The complainant stated that it was foggy and the driver of the vehicle was speeding up and slowing down.

A complaint was received of a large dog that has been loose in the town of Carlyle. The dog has apparently been acting in a dangerous manner, biting and growling at the people. The investigation is continuing.

A report of theft was received for 3 heaters that were taken from a trackhoe and bulldozer at an oil lease south of Carlyle. Each of the heaters has a value of $1500 each. The matter is ongoing.

RCMP was advised of a white pick-up truck that had individuals fighting in it on the side of the road near Forget on Highway 13. The driver of the vehicle, a 21 year-old male, showed gross signs of impairment and was charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.08 and impaired driving.

RCMP received a report of a dirty school bus that had turned left off the road and a collision nearly occurred. Members were unable to prove fault in the incident; however, they have spoken with both individuals regarding the incident.
