The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 52 calls to service between Dec. 6 and Dec. 12.

911 calls

A vehicle located on Hwy 13 which was parked on the side of road and partially blocking traffic was reported. The vehicle was cleared without issue and no problems occurred because of it.

At Kenosee Lake a report was made of someone going through the ice, but inspection showed it was a paraglider who was taking a break.

Assaults

Three assaults in the Carlyle area took place. The first resulted in a 53-year-old male being charged with assault, the second saw a 26-year-old female charged, and the third assault involved two people being charged including a 36-year-old female and a 40-year-old male.

Assisting the public

RCMP assisted in a civil matter regarding the purchasing of a truck. The individual who bought the vehicle had not made any payments on it.

An individual was taken to a safer location following a breach of the peace in the Carlyle area.

Members attended Arcola regarding a child welfare case and to give assistance with a young child, but it was simply sibling rivalry.

RCMP attended the scene of a sudden death in the Carlyle area.

Members were made aware of disturbing the peace in Redvers as a spouse of a recently fired employee was upset.

In Arcola members of the RCMP were made aware of inappropriate comments made to a waitress.

Theft of property was reported and later returned. The complainant declined to lay charges.

A request to locate an individual in the Carlyle area was called in. People were concerned for the well being of an individual who walked away from a residence. RCMP found him at home in bed, safe.

False alarms

In Carlyle the motion sensors at the high school was set off for an unknown reason.

A false alarm at a business in Redvers was triggered due to a key fob accidently being set off. This was also the cause of a false alarm in Arcola.

Driving infractions

A 46-year-old female was charged with impaired driving in Arcola as was a 22-year-old female in Redvers.

Ten speeding tickets were issued. A 19-year-old male was fined $192; a 34-year-old female was ticketed $134; a 20-year-old male was fined $204; a 42-year-old male was ticketed $214; a 34-year-old male was fined $188; a 36-year-old female was ticketed $135; a 44-year-old male was fined $132; a 49-year-old male was charged $128; a 40-year-old male was ticketed $135; a 46-year-old female was fined $200.

A complaint of an erratic driver in Carlyle was reported, but members were unable to locate the vehicle.

A possible suspended driver was reported in Carlyle for information purposes.

In Carlyle a 39-year-old male was charged with using an electronic communications equipment while driving and fined $280. A 42-year-old in Arcola was also caught using an electronic device and fined $280.

An individual upset over a rock in their windshield from passing a vehicle on a gravel road was reported. Members referred the individual to SGI.

A traffic collision took place in Carlyle. The drivers exchanged information and the matter didn't require the police.

In Redvers a 23-year-old male was charged for driving without due care and attention, which resulted in a traffic collision and a $280 fine.

Near Carlyle a tire blew out and the vehicle went into the ditch needing to be towed.

A salt water truck near Forget rolled. There was no spillage, but a 39-year-old male was charged $280 for driving without due care and attention.

Members assisted Estevan police regarding a vehicle collision with a deer.

Theft

Theft of a trailer in Carlyle was reported. It turned out a friend of the son's owner of the company had borrowed the vehicle and forgot to tell the owner.

Vehicle theft near Carlyle was reported, but the vehicle was returned and no charges were laid.

Mischief

Mischief in the Carlyle area was reported and the argument was resolved peacefully.

Tires in Kisbey were slashed and this matter is under investigation.

Members responded to a call of mischief in the Carlyle area, but were told at the scene that the police were no longer needed.

Other calls

A vehicle fire in Arcola occurred. Members are unsure of the cause.

A complaint in Wawota originated with someone hacking into an email account. This matter is currently under investigation.

Harassing phone calls in the Carlyle area were reported but the complainant declined to lay charges.

Other harassing phone calls were reported in the Carlyle area, which were actually unfounded.

Harassing phone calls were reported in Kisbey with a disgruntled former employee being spoken with and told to stop.

Members attended a call regarding the mental health act. The subject was transported to Arcola hospital by EMS.

A suspicious person was reported near Wawota.

In Arcola there was a report of uttering threats, though the complainant declined to lay charges.
