Weekly RCMP report

Between June 21st and 27th the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP were involved with 82 calls of service.

False alarms

There were four false alarms during this time. Two were to businesses in the area near closing time and it is suspected a wrong code was entered. The two other calls were to the same business, four minutes apart also near closing time.

911 calls

Three 911 calls were received during this time. One was unfounded involving a breach of lawful enjoyment of property when SaskPower employees arrived at a residence to work on their power line, while the other two were hang up calls.

Fire calls

There were five fires reported through calls and alarms. One was a structural fire in Wawota, there were no injuries. A cabin at Moose Mountain Provincial Park caught fire, there is no indication as to how it started, and no one was injured. Two fire alarms went off at the Skyline Motor Inn, but there was no indication of fire.

The final call regarded a power line that had been knocked down in Carlyle, which had sparked. SaskPower attended and took care of the problem.

Lost and Found

An iPod was reported as lost.

Animal complaints

Two complaints of dogs at large were called into RCMP. A third called regarded a dog which had been hit by a car.

Assaults

There were four reported assaults throughout the week, which are all under investigation.

Assistance

RCMP assisted the Boogie Fest Cabaret on June 23rd with ensuring people left in a safe and timely manner. There were no issues and RCMP were only there in case something developed.

Members received calls asking if family members had been located. The individuals had not been missing, the callers simply wanted to know if RCMP knew where they were.

EMS were attending a cardiac arrest and contacted RCMP to make them aware assistance was not needed.

Breach of peace

Involved in a family argument an individual called RCMP to ask if they could spend the night in cells, so the argument did not escalate.

Breach of probation

A report concerning an individual consuming alcohol against probation rules was reported. This remains under investigation.

Breach of release conditions

An individual failed to comply with release conditions and was held for court.

Theft

A utility trailer was taken from the Carlyle area. This matter is under investigation.

A vehicle was taken in the Carlyle area without the owner's consent. The owner does not want to press charges.

Three kids reportedly took gas from a work truck in Arcola. No charges have been laid at this time.

Break and enter

Seven calls of break and entering to cottages in the area were reported. All of the matters are under investigation. No one has been charged regarding the incidents yet.

An attempted break and enter to a residence occurred. A window was broken and an individual attempted to enter. There are no suspects at this time.

Motor vehicle collisions

A hit and run was reported in Redvers on Highway 13.

A hit and run occurred on Main Street in Carlyle. A Canadian Energy Services truck was struck and the matter is under investigation.

There was a minor collision in a parking lot in Carlyle. No charges were laid.

Impaired drivers

There were five reports of impaired drivers, three of which the RCMP were unable to locate the vehicles. A possible impaired driver was reportedly leaving a golf course in the area. There was a call of an impaired driver in the Carlyle area as well as one originating from the Arcola area.

A call for assistance regarding an individual who may be inclined to drink and drive was received. The vehicle was disabled and no offence occurred.

In one instance, however, a 70-year-old man was charged with impaired driving.

Liquor related offences

A 25-year-old male was charged with having open liquor in public.

An individual was intoxicated at a residence. No charges were laid.

An intoxicated female was found in the Carlyle area. EMS had initially been called as well because an accident was believed to have occurred, though it did not. The female was not charged.

A 17-year-old male was charged with resisting arrest and two liquor related offences in the Carlyle area.

Mischief

Five calls of mischief were received during this time two of which were unfounded.

One involved a pipe having been thrown at an oil field trailer. It was thrown against a window, which caused the glass to break.

Two people were reportedly fighting, alcohol was involved, but they were gone upon RCMP arrival.

Another call of individuals fighting was reported. No charges were laid and they had left before members arrived.

Traffic infractions

A stop sign ticket was given to a 24-year-old female.

A speeding ticket was given to a 29-year-old male at $188 and a 30-year-old male received a ticket for $137.

A $115 ticket was given to an individual for tint on their front windows. Another vehicle was found with tint on the front windows and issued a warning instructing the owner to have the tint removed.

On Highway 13 near Redvers an erratic driver was reported as swerving all over the road, but RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle.

An erratic driver north of Carlyle on Highway 9 reportedly almost caused a collision. The registered owner may end up being charged as the investigation evolves.

A vehicle was said to be speeding through a construction zone. A letter has been sent to the registered owner stating that in Saskatchewan it is mandatory to reduce speeds to 60 km/hr in construction zones.

Mud was spilt on Highway 13 near Arcola. The company was tracked down, which was responsible and they cleaned up the road. The concern was that the mud had caused the road to become slippery.

Noise complaint

There was a noise complaint in Redvers. Members attended and gave a warning to those causing the noise.

Flasher

A report of nudity in public was reported in Kenosee. The incident involving the flasher is under investigation.

Suspicious person

The suspicious person in Arcola was a 16-year-old youth. The caller reported that whenever this youth was in town bad things happen.

Fraud

A person's credit card was used by an unknown individual. The matter is under investigation.

Uttering threats

A caller reported having received threats being uttered towards them. The matter is still under investigation and no charges have been laid currently.
