The leaders and volunteers are doing a great job planning different Christmas festivities for the town. By shopping locally, you can win Wawota Bucks. Residents are being encouraged to put up lights and decorate windows. Three judges will pick the winners and there will be more Wawota bucks rewarded.
A Christmas display will be put up on the south lawn for the Deer View Lodge and some of the residents’ windows. The local library is encouraging us to write Christmas greetings to shut-ins. They are also sponsoring a snowflake scavenger hunt.
The Christian churches around the world are celebrating Advent. November 29 was Hope and last Sunday was Peace. The messages during Advent are always welcome, no matter how many times we hear them. It is like the birth of Jesus; it never gets old.
