Harold and Jane Laich have moved to their new home at Last Mountain Lake, which is 27 kilometres from Strasburg. The Laichs moved to Wawota from Leader in 1983 when Harold was hired to be the principal of Wawota Parkland School. Jane commented that they meant to spent a couple years in Wawota and then move back to Leader.

They were actively involved in the community including sports, church and many other areas of the community while raising their three children, Jodi, Brooks and Jordan. The quote they included in their family history in the Wawota History Book sums up their philosophy, "A community is only as good as you make it!"

I was on the local school board when we hired Harold and it was the best decision we ever made.
