A special air quality statement is now in effect in southern Saskatchewan.

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada has lifted the special air quality statement for most of southern Saskatchewan.

The initial advisory, issued Tuesday afternoon, stated that smoke would be causing poor air quality and reduced visibility. A cold front moving southwards through southern Saskatchewan would concentrate forest fire smoke.

The advisory has now been lifted for most of southern Saskatchewan. It remains in place for Swift Current, Maple Creek, Shaunavon and other areas, as of Thursday at 8:45 a.m.
