聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The 麻豆视频east Compassionate Response Team and RPCI Greyston Bereavement Centre is bringing Duane T. Bowers to Weyburn for an Impact of Trauma on Others/Traumatic Impact on Self presentation.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The event is designed for people who deal with traumas including first responders, police officers, fire fighters, EMS, coroners, Ministers, funeral service providers, school counsellors, teachers, mental health professionals, social workers, volunteers, or anyone who works with people who have been affected by a trauma.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淭his workshop explores the impact of First Responders and caregivers on the mental and emotional health of victims immediately after a traumatic event,鈥� their poster states. 鈥淭he symptoms of traumatic response and the basic neuroscience and the brain functioning behind those symptoms will be discussed. The debriefing approach will be evaluated and the Psychological First Aid and the Verbal First Aid approach will be presented as alternatives. The workshop also explores the effects of trauma and PTSD on First Responders and caregivers helping them to recognize the signs and symptoms of PTSD in themselves and colleagues.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The speaker, Bowers, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Educator who specializes in working with survivors of traumatic death and suicide. Specifically he focuses on supporting families of abducted, missing, exploited, and murdered children.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 As an educator he is involved with seminars both nationally and internationally, where he speaks about dying, death and grief, and trauma 鈥� Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and traumatic loss.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The event is being held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Canalta Hotel.
