Carlyle Town Council held its regular bi-weekly meeting Wednesday, April 4 at the Carlyle Civic Centre. Council's next meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 18 at the Civic Centre.
Election of Councillor
           Due to the resignation of Councillor Brian Romaniuk, a byelection to fill his seat on Carlyle Town Council will be held Wednesday, May 23. Nomination forms are available at the Town Office. Nomination day is Wednesday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Johnstone Trail
           A portion of Carlyle's Main Street will be re-named Johnstone Trail, in honour of Bob and Audrey Johnstone of Carlyle. The portion of road to be renamed is on the far south portion of Main Street at the edge of the town limits – from near Ruckle Road to the lagoon.
2018 Budget
           Council is currently in the process of drafting the Town of Carlyle's 2018 budget.
Walk for ALS
           The Town of Carlyle will be supporting the community's first annual Walk for ALS, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 11.
Cemetery Mapping
           Prairie Mapping Industries has been engaged to map the Glen Morris Cemetery.
Transit Van
           The Town of Carlyle would like to remind residents that transport via the community's transit van can be booked by calling the Town office at 453-2363. Rides are $2. The transit van is in service Monday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon.
Volunteer Drivers
           At the request of some residents, Councillor Jenn Sedor asks that volunteer drivers who are willing to transport seniors to out-of-town appointments leave their names and contact information so that a pool of available drivers can be compiled.
