On March 4th 2012 8 eager High school students of SCS went to Telemiracle!, It was very nice to see all heartfelt contributions and what a great feeling it was to run out on stage with the tote boards to showcase the rapid dollar increases from hour to hour. When we went for training it was very nerve racking yet exciting for us.

Most people would think raising tote boards would be an "easy" job, but for some, like me it was really hard in fact I had to make sure the numbers are aligned, not upside down, and correctly positioned. Also to make sure you're smiling and keeping an eye on the supervisor when to come off, it feels like being a part of every donation and every emotion everyone contributed. At the end of the day everyone is tired, but going home with a feeling that you made a difference. I would like to mention one of my personal highlights was when a young girl in a wheelchair did her rendition of Born this Way by Lady Gaga. When she came backstage there were many Volunteers and Performers complimenting her job well done, her positive outlook was infectious as she showed her appreciation for Telemiracle. Congratulations to Telemiracle for raising an outstanding 5.9 million dollars a increase from last year by over a million dollars.

I would like to take this time to thank the many community members and students who helped us raise our $2,500 that we were able to donate to Telemiracle. Also, a special thanks goes out to Klutch Consulting and Fairbourne Energy who also contributed to the cause.

For little doggie treats Congratulations to Ryan Folk, and Chris Short who scored their very first baskets in Gladmar's Tournament on March 3rd and 4th by helping their team win the gold by coming in 1st place. The events and excitement never seem to quit with the senior basketball team as now they advance to Conferences on March 9th here in Stoughton.

The Sr. Boys Basketball team ended up placing 2nd over-all at Conferences and therefore they will now be advancing to Regional Playoffs on March 16th and 17th but the hosting site has yet to be determined. A big thanks goes out to all of the observers who came out to support the boys throughout the play offs also another huge thank-you goes out to all of the volunteers who help at the door, canteen and also the minor officials who made the conference play-offs a huge success. The event wouldn't have been successful without you and your hard work! Good luck boys in Regionals!

Both the Jr. Girls and Boys had their play-offs this past week on March 8th. The Jr. Girls were in Gladmar and the Jr. Boys in Fillmore. We are very proud of both of the teams who represented the schools with great respect and sportsmanship. The Jr. Boys placed 3rd in their division and the Jr. Girls came out with a dominating win. They are now the 1st place team in their division! Great job girl's way to represent the school! Another big thanks goes out to the coaches and parents of those athletes who have dedicated many hours making their season a success. Thanks you very much for all of your time and effort!

The Junior athletes would also like to thank Stacey and Scott Kindgon who have donated a new set of jerseys to be used for our junior sports. Thank you very much they are greatly appreciated!

The last week in February at Stoughton Central school received an unexpected visitor for a presentation of grades 1- 8 and our joining school from Ocean man came as well. This magician was excellent to see and teach the kids about bullying, as he supplied prime examples that it seemed to catch the eyes of the kids, which it seemed really made them think. Not only did he teach the kids about bullying, but he also taught them good components like respect, honor, encouragement, and to be outspoken, and how "cool kids" should act.
