The Happy Nun Café nestled in Forget, SK, has seen a multitude of diverse performers take to the stage to entertain.
Coming on Saturday, Jan. 18, to the Happy Nun is the Winnipeg based band, The Bros. Landreth.
"We're at the epicenter of this great artistic hub, smack dab in the middle of the coldest place in the known universe," David Landreth explained on The Bros. Landreth webpage. "We have to write and play just to stay warm half the year It becomes a creative incubator, a survival technique."
Joey and David Landreth have been performing since they were boys. Born into a musical family Joey is said to have taken to the guitar before he was able to speak, while David played a variety of instruments before settling on the bass.
The brothers have been on the music scene for a number of years having worked apart with Joey recently working with Doc Walker and David with Imaginary Cities. The Bros. Landreth is rounded out by Ryan "Rhino" Voth the drummer and Alex Campbell on piano and the harmonica.
Described as a mixture of Alt-Country, Roots, and Folk, The Bros. Landreth will be touring to promote their debut album, Let It Lie. The tour will take them across Canada to perform in big cities such as Vancouver and Edmonton, to small venues like the Happy Nun Café.
Smooth and heartfelt The Bros. Landreth are able to transition from a slow tempo song, to a foot stomping country tune.
Music and more information on the band can be found at www.thebroslandreth.com, while their video for, Tappin' On The Glass, can be found on Youtube though it has seen time being played on CMT.
The show will start at 7:30 p.m. with tickets costing $25. Dinner is available at the Happy Nun on concert nights, but people are asked to make reservations by calling (306)457-2560.
