Scott Manners of the Battleford Curling Club stole the extra point and a 6-5 win in the Championship Final of the Sasktel Tankard in Assiniboia Sunday against former champion Bruce Korte. Manners, along with third Tyler Lang, second Ryan Deis and lead Mike Armstrong trailed Korte the entire game and stole singles in the 10th end to send the game into overtime and then in the extra end after Korte's hit rolled inches too far. Manners won the Page Playoff A vs B game Saturday night also in dramatic fashion in the extra end over Korte 7-6 to advance into the final. Korte came back with a win over Jamie Schneider in the semi-final 9-7 to get another chance at Manners. Schneider defeated Carl deConinck Smith 10-3 in the C1 vs C2 Page Playoff Saturday to get into the semi-final.

Note: Ryan Deis (second) is son of Serge and Donda Lee Deis of Fox Valley, SK and grandson of Glen and Marie McConnell, Carlyle.
