Students win awards for Genius Hour

Students took part in the annual Kipling School Genius Hour Science Fair and Heritage Fair. Although not being able to present their projects to the public, they were still judged on them.

Kipling School Genius Hour winners were:

Grade 4: 1st Tennessee Kish, 2nd Joshua Shoemaker, 3rd Owen Arthur.

Grade 5: 1st Celine Gueco, 2nd Bailey White, 3rd Danika Cancade.

Honourable Mentions: Isaac Teuw, Gillian Meszaros, Mersade Declercq.

Honourable Mentions: Cayden Bowley, Gunnar Gall.

Grade 6: 1st Makenna Box, 2nd Dawson Shoemaker and Kamryn Kish, 3rd Brynn Sproat.

Grade 7: Science (moved on to Heritage): Kaden Varjassy

Heritage: 1st Adisyn Barath and Taylor Andres (moved on to regionals), 2nd Cadence Miller and Sasha Walker, 3rd Payton Cobb and Cooper Schaeffer.

Genius Hour: 1st Sheldon Puffalt, 2nd Katherine Montaron, 3rd Phoenix Gies and Myla Hill.

Grade 8: Science: 1st Kalub Hoblyak and Alex Reid, 2nd Dezyree Plaza and Sydney Moore, 3rd Rowan Lemieux and Braden Kapell.

Grade 9: Genius: 1st Jheza Aliado, 2nd Liam Teuw, 3rd Aaliyah and Allison Carlos.

Grade 9: Science: Cheyanne Wennberg and Kaylee Joorisity, Zyle Diaz, Autumn Singer (all moved on to Regionals)

Genius: 1st Barbod Nokam, 2nd Madison Shoemaker, 3rd Kenneth Quinatagcan.

Autumn Singer moved on to nationals virtually in Ottawa May 17 to 21. She did very well and a personal best, with plans of entering again next year.
