Season’s greetings from the members of the Broadview RCMP detachment.
“We all hope that you find yourselves in good health and good company (social distancing, of course),” wrote Cpl. Larkin Cote of the Broadview RCMP. As we all have experienced ourselves, facing new challenges throughout this year, we must take time to reflect on what is most important in our lives.”
To most, this would be family and friends.
“You too are very special in someone’s life,” Larkin wrote.
Larkin believes it is all the more reason to plan a safe ride home for yourself and for others in the upcoming holiday season.
He notes that impaired driving is still a major contributing factor to many of the collisions and calls for service in the area they serve. Larkin asks that people take time and consider all of their options and the possible consequences for a safe and relaxing evening.
People should preplan their evening and arrange for a sober driver.
“If you have a little too much drink (or smoke) and need a ride, call a friend, call a relative,” he said. “The consequences simply are not worth the risk to yourself and those around you.”
Larkin asks that people make this a safe and sound holiday season and to do their part to make sure everyone will Arrive Alive in the next few weeks.
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.
