聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 In 2016, the Annual Optimist Club of Arcola Snowmobile Rally was hosted, but weather didn鈥檛 cooperate and there was no snow; however, many people were still out to support the efforts of The Optimists.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This year the weather has decided to cooperate and there has been substantial snowfall in the area and The Optimists are looking forward to the 24th Annual Snowmobile Rally, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The event is based out of the Prairie Place Hall, where breakfast will begin 鈥� courtesy the Arcola Fire Department 鈥� at 8 a.m. and run until 11 a.m. Registration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon; the registration fee is $20 per rider and enters you for a chance to win over $8,000 in rider prizes.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Riders have the opportunity to head out on over 100 km of scenic Moose Mountain Country trails after registering between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. While out on the trail snacks and hot chocolate will be available as well.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Trail guide, Kevin Paton, says, 鈥淲e have snow this year and will be using the Moose Mountain Snowmobile Club鈥檚 trails, so we鈥檒l be working hard alongside them to get the trails marked up 鈥� they鈥檙e always well marked for people to follow 鈥� and the Moose Mountain Snowmobile Club always has the trails groomed for us as well.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lunch and a concession will be available from noon until 4 p.m., while the rider prize draws and the Annual Snowmobile Rally Lottery will take place at 5:30 p.m.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A beer gardens will also be available at Prairie Place, please drink responsibly.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This year the Snowmobile Rally Lottery is your choice of a 2016 Skidoo Backcountry 800 Snowmobile, a 2016 Suzuki 750 Quad, or a 2017 Yamaha Golf Cart from Carlyle RV and Leisure.
