The Sask Liquor and Gaming Authority was the recent subject of a cyber security attack, but investigation shows no information has been misused yet.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority was the focus of a cyber security attack over the holidays, but the organization said the incident is not a privacy concern at this time.

On Dec. 25, the SLGA said its computer systems were compromised in a cyber security incident.

SLGA said it took immediate measures to secure it's systems, including the temporary disablement of some computer systems and applications. An independent cohort of cyber security experts have also been brought on to assist.

“SLGA will bring these systems back online once it's advisors have addressed the incident,” said a statement.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing, including an assessment into the impact the breach had to SLGA’s operations.

Currently, SLGA doesn’t believe that any customer, employee or other personal data has been compromised or misused.

“SLGA is committed to data safety, is taking the matter very seriously and asks its employees, customers and partners for their patience as it seeks to remediate the situation,” said the statement.
