Senior golfers ready to tee up for Ryder Cup title

Golfers from the White Bear Golf Course and Golf Kenosee golfers will duke it out for the Senior Ryder Cup title. The challenge is a team event with 12 players from each Club and two alternates.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Golfers from the White Bear Golf Course and Golf Kenosee golfers will duke it out for the Senior Ryder Cup title.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The challenge is a team event with 12 players from each Club and two alternates.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The first round will be played at the White Bear Golf Course on Monday, June 22, followed by round two on Thursday, June 25 at Golf Kenosee.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 For the round one play, each team will consist of two players. There are six points available in the six matches on the first day and for the second day at Golf Kenosee, the format will switch to individual match play with 12 matches and 12 points for the taking. The team with the most points at end of play on June 25, takes the victory for their home course. Should the teams end in a tie for points, the team winning the prior year will retain the title.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Last year鈥檚 event was won by the White Bear team and is聽 held annually between the two courses. The 鈥淪enior鈥 Ryder Cup was spawned by the popularity of the regular Ryder Cup competition between the two courses, that has been held for over 20 years.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The White Bear team will see co-captains Earl Silcox and Clarence Gelowitz return to manage the defending champions. Gelowitz is looking forward to this year鈥檚 challenge and has the team ready to defend the title, knowing the good old boys from Kenosee will have other plans, which adds to the great fun and fellowship displayed last year.聽

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Team Kenosee is captained by Kenner Lees. Lees was not divulging any team information when given an opportunity to comment.
