Jenn Sedor, Carlyle’s mayor and town librarian, is full of ideas for celebrating and just plain having fun.
Creating Christmas Cards for seniors to be dropped off at the library before Dec. 18, making room for Cornerstone Family and Youth fundraisers and of course, bringing Santa to town are just a few of the cool things happening this year. You can even ‘Elf’ your neighbours – go check it out.
Just because we cannot all gather in our communities in great crowds with singing, hot chocolate, beautiful lights and festive spirits, it doesn’t mean that Sedor can’t bring it to you. As with all of Sedor’s crazy ideas, it just takes some planning and action to make it a reality.
You and your family can sit outside on Dec. 12 with your favourite snack or beverage on your lawn or driveway and wait with anticipation to catch a glimpse of Claus himself. You will know he is coming because he will be accompanied by the lights and sirens of the Carlyle Fire Department.
The tour will start at 1:00pm on Saturday and go up (or down) every street in Carlyle. Feel free to take pictures and bring some of your own good cheer!
For more information, go the library’s Facebook page or give them a call at 306-453-6120.
