On Tuesday, July 9 Moose Mountain Lodge was filled with joy, as Rory Allen thrilled residents, staff and guests, as he performed many of the greatest hits of Elvis Presley.聽 If you have never heard Rory Allen sing, you have most definitely missed out.
聽Allen has performed with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, the 50鈥檚 Rock鈥檔鈥橰oll group 鈥淒anny and the Juniors鈥�, and with 鈥淓lvis Presley鈥檚 Imperials Quartet鈥�. Most exciting is the fact that Rory Allen has recorded and performed on several occasions with Elvis Presley鈥檚 backup singers, the legendary Jordanaires. While he sings gospel like an angel and dances like a . . . let鈥檚 just say, he鈥檚 provocative, Rory and his wife, Lorie, were presented with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll鈥檚 Diamond Jubilee Medals, in recognition of their numerous charitable and fundraising activities.聽
Rory鈥檚 presence at MML was made possible by the local volunteer group 鈥渢he Friends of Moose Mountain Lodge鈥�.聽 When the group formed their mission was very simple 鈥� to enhance the everyday lives of the residents of MML.聽 In their quest to complete the mission they have brought in fresh fruit, A&W chicken, family BBQ鈥檚, fixed up the back patio, helped purchase games and flowers, brought in entertainment and more.聽 The latest project was decorating the common area, and it looks fabulous!! Members of the community are invited to attend the Family BBQ on August 11. Watch for posters in local businesses or on social media.
