Richardson Foundation helps Stoughton SCC reach their goals

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 For the past two years, the Stoughton School Community Council has been fundraising for new playground equipment and on Friday, Nov. 3, their goal came within reach thanks to the generous donation of $15,000 from the Richardson Foundation through Richardson Pioneer, which has supported splash parks, playgrounds, sports fields, arenas, community halls, volunteer fire departments, and more.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淐ommunities are able to apply for funding and Richardson Foundation donates to projects in the area and throughout Canada,鈥 Mike Sarada 鈥 Grain Merchant from Estevan 鈥 explained prior to presenting the cheque to Amanda Baumgartner, Chair of the Stoughton SCC.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Sarada was joined by Crop Inputs Manager from Estevan, Tye Olson, in making the donation and celebrating with the school.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淥ur goal was $50,000,鈥 Baumgartner stated. 鈥淲e have been fundraising since January 2015 and this donation brings us to $42,900; so, we plan on putting a down payment on playground equipment at the end of the year and begin installing next year.鈥

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Baumgartner was extremely excited: 鈥淲e rolled a lot of dirty tires [for a fundraiser], hosted a dinner theatre, sold poinsettias, and have done numerous other fundraisers; and this generous donation brings us within reach.鈥

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Baumgartner said that they would be selling poinsettias and wreaths again this year with a deadline of Nov. 24, so if interested contact the Stoughton School at (306)457-2533.
