聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 an armistice was signed agreeing to end hostilities between the Central Powers and the Triple Entente during World War I. The war did not conclude until the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Now we gather to remember those that gave their lives while in the line of duty. The minute of silence is to take place at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, the majority of the program for the public held at the Carlyle Elementary School prior to this.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In Carlyle the Remembrance Day service will begin promptly at 10:45 a.m. and is held by the Carlyle Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion at CES.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In addition to attending the local Remembrance Day Ceremony on Nov. 11, Veterans Canada recommends people take the opportunity 鈥渢o recognize the contribution our Veterans have made and to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of Canada.鈥
