RCMP Report: April 4 to April 10

911 Calls

There was a call from Redvers School was received, but there was no emergency and with numerous students in the school the RCMP are unsure who called.

A Carbon monoxide detector was going off at a residence on White Bear. SaskEnergy attended to investigate the cause.

Animal Call

In Carlyle a stray dog was reported at large. The owner was not located and the dog took off before members could apprehend the animal.

Assistance

Chatham Kent Police Services in Ontario contacted Carlyle RCMP to check on an individual in Redvers who was texting a student in Ontario. Chatham Kent Police Services were worried about the content of some of the texts, but all was found well.

Members assisted an individual recover property from a residence in Arcola.

CN Police reported repairs were to be done to the rail line across Hwy 9.

RCMP assisted another individual in recovering property from a residence after another individual had become belligerent earlier.

There was a duffle bag turned into RCMP and they are currently attempting to contact the owner.

Members assisted Weyburn RCMP with a search warrant in Stoughton.

Two requests to locate individuals were called into the Carlyle Detachment. Both were located and found to be safe.

Breaking and entering

A business in Redvers was broken into. Tools and a pump were stolen from the business and the matter is currently under investigation.

A reported breaking and entering, and theft were reported in the Carlyle area. It remains under investigation.

Driving infractions

An erratic driver was reported in the Redvers area, but they were gone upon police arrival.

There was a 53-year-old woman charged with operating an unregistered vehicle and will be attending court.

Reports of a disqualified driver possibly driving to Carlyle were called into RCMP, but the subject was located and they were not driving.

In Redvers a hit and run was reported. Members currently have a suspect vehicle and the matter is under investigation.

A possibly impaired driver near Arcola was reported. Members located the van, but no issues were found.

In Redvers there was a report of an impaired driver hitting a power pole. The matter is under investigation.

There were reports of an impaired driver going to Manor, but they were not located.

A report of an impaired driver near Redvers was called into RCMP, but the driver was not located.

A report of a hit and run in Redvers was called into RCMP and is under investigation currently.

There was a 21-year-old female in Carlyle charged $580 for having no registration on her vehicle.

An individual in Redvers was fined $230 for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Speeding vehicles reported in Carlyle has resulted in increased patrols in the area.

A 31-year-old female was fined $133 for speeding near Redvers.

Seven other speeding tickets were also issued: 44-year-old female at $188; 32-year-old male at $139; a 46-year-old male at $139; a 32-year-old male at $216; a 52-year-old male at $192; a 55-year-old male at $198; and a 44-year-old female at $135.

Quaders stunting were reported in the Redvers area. Vehicle stunting was also reported in the Carlyle area during this week.

Three seatbelt tickets were issued during this time at $175 to a 37-year-old male, a 21-year-old male, and a 29-year-old male.

An erratic driver was reported in Redvers and the matter is currently under investigation.

There was a 17-year-old female charged $115 for having an inadequate windshield.

A minor "fender bender" occurred in Carlyle. There were no injuries and little damage.

There was a possible impaired driver in the Carlyle area reported, but RCMP were unable to locate them.

Vehicle collisions

There was a collision in Carlyle when a 27-year-old female proceeded from a stop sign before it was safe to do so.

A report of a possibly impaired driver near Moose Mountain Provincial Park was reported, which is related to a single vehicle collision. Charges are pending upon the completion of an investigation.

A single vehicle accident happened south of Kipling in the Carlyle Detachment's jurisdiction. The 32-year-old woman was taken to the Kipling Hospital and then transferred to Regina for further examination. The driver was possibly going too fast for the conditions and may have been inexperienced on gravel roads.

There was a fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on April 7 on a main grid road on White Bear First Nation. Alcohol and speed are thought to be contributing factors in the case though it remains under investigation. Charges are pending. There were five occupants of the vehicle: one passed away from injuries in hospital, while two others were in critical condition. One of the two in critical condition has recovered enough to be moved from critical care, while the other is still in critical condition. The driver was observed at the Arcola Health Centre for a time, while the fifth person in the vehicle declined medical attention.

False alarms

An alarm sounded at a business in Carlyle, but the building was secure. It is thought that a power flicker caused the alarm to sound.

A fire alarm in Manor at a residence was attended, but there was no fire.

Fire

Near Forget a vehicle hauling hay was reported on fire. Stoughton Fire attended and put it out.

Theft

A vehicle was reported stolen in the Carlyle area and is currently under investigation.

Gas theft reported in Carlyle is currently under investigation.

Reports of a possibly stolen snow machine were investigated in the Carlyle area and determined to be unfounded.

Vandalism

Damage to a vehicle in Arcola which was parked outside of Buddy's Pub was reported.

In Redvers damage to a 2014 Ford Escape was reported and is believed to be vandalism, not a hit and run.

Other calls to service

A report of a sexual assault is currently being investigated by RCMP.

Harassing phone calls were received by an individual in the Carlyle area, but they declined to pursue charges.

A sudden death occurred in Redvers, but investigation determined natural causes to have been the reason.

There was a breach of peace in the Carlyle area with an individual acting up. They were able to settle the dispute without police involvement.

A suspicious person and vehicle were reported in Arcola. Members arrived but the vehicle had already left.

Reports of uttering threats via Facebook were looked into and since the individual did not know the person threatening them they were advised to simply block the person on their Facebook settings.
