Arcola’s Antique Ag Daze, July 28, 2019, was a howling success. I was blown away by the amount of thought and effort put into the organization of the day, as well as by the 90 km. per hour winds!
From the pancake breakfast, to the parade, to the antique harvesting demonstration, it was obvious that the committee was dedicated to making sure everyone enjoyed the day.
The trade show, kid’s zone, petting zoo, children’s tractor pull, climbing wall, stick horse rodeo complete with bucking broncs, bouncers, blacksmith demo, pottery demo where you could get down and dirty playing with the clay on the potters wheel, collectible car show, fair exhibits, tractor pull, pinata demo, Kenosee Lake Kitchen Party music, the catered meal by Weirs, and the music by the Caragana Ramblers and Chris Byrne, were all designed to keep you entertained, no matter how antique you might be!Â
While the weather didn’t co-operate as much as one would hope, there was no doubt that folks were having a great time.
The Dash for Cash grand prize winners may live in Archerwill but they have roots in Arcola. Sandra, (daughter of Martha Carr) and Todd Hagenes took home $3,000 when their winning ticket was pulled.Â
Hats off to all the volunteers who obviously spent a great deal of time and effort into making the day such a success. PS Rumour has it the pies were pretty good too!

83-12aad2-5     Antique tractors, swather’s and combines worked in the barley field to demonstrate harvest in years gone by. And as in any harvest, there were breakdowns to slow things down, but there wasn’t a whole lot of antique mechanics around to work on the antique machines.
