The provincial election is less than 11 days away. Scheduled for Nov. 7, the 27th general election will determine the individuals that will represent Saskatchewan residents for years to come.

Scheduled for Nov. 7, the 27th general election will determine the individuals that will represent Saskatchewan residents for years to come.

The province of Saskatchewan is divided into 58 constituencies, of which, a representative for each constituency will be elected. The 58 elected representatives will fill the seats at the provincial legislature in Regina.

With the last day to enter into the election having passed as of Oct. 22, the representatives running in this year's election have been finalized. This year, Cannington has four candidates available for the voting public.

The Green Party is represented in this year's election by Daniel Johnson. Todd Gervais has been announced as the candidate for the New Democratic Party (N.D.P.). The Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan is being represented by Chris Brown, while Dan D'Autremont is representing the Saskatchewan Party in this year's general election.

Voter turnout from the last election was 76.02 percent, the third lowest turnout since 1971. The highest voter turnout since that time was during the 1982 election with a voter turnout of 83.90 percent.
