ESTEVAN - A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in the sex crimes case of Estevan’s Josh LeBlanc.

The hearing will take place in Estevan Provincial Court on Aug. 8. A preliminary hearing is held by the court to decide whether there is enough evidence to send the case to trial. Preliminary hearings are only held for indictable offences.

LeBlanc was arrested in May of last year and charged with one count each of luring a person under the age of 18, sexual exploitation and sexual assault. All three charges are under the Criminal Code.

Since that time, his case has been before Estevan Provincial Court on a number of occasions, and it was adjourned to a later date each time. His most recent court appearance was May 15, at which time the preliminary hearing was scheduled.

None of the charges facing LeBlanc have been proven in court.
