Friday evening saw a heavy RCMP presence in Arcola as police conducted a search warrant on a home on Railway Avenue. Staff Seargant Darren Simmons with the Carlyle RCMO runs us through the details of the operation.
“Our traffic members garnered intelligence which led to them preparing a search warrant for a residence in Arcola. Our detachment with Carlyle Traffic Services, Weyburn Traffic Services, and Estevan Traffic Services did a search warrant, found some stolen property, what we believe to be some drugs, and two individuals were arrested, detained, and the charges will be forthcoming.â€
The warrant has been in the works for the last few weeks and finally came to a head Friday night. No court date has been set as police are still determining the composition of the potential drugs.Â
“We’re going to get the potential drugs analyzed first and once we know exactly what we have and how much of it, then we’ll be laying the charges when appropriate.â€
More details to come when charges, court dates, and what exactly the substance police are testing are released.
