UPDATE: Regina police deem death on east side a homicide

A male who was discovered deceased at an address on Heseltine Road on Sunday has been declared the city's 13th homicide victim this year.

Regina Police Service is investigating the death of an adult male on Sunday, after an early morning call reporting a death.

REGINA — Update on Nov. 16 at 5:15 p.m.: Police and coroners have deemed the death of an adult male, reported initially on Nov. 14, to be a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Ahi S. Ebrotie, 29, of Regina. His next-of-kin have been notified of his death.

Investigation continues, with not suspects identified or further details provided by police at this time.

Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.

This incident is the city's 13th homicide in 2021.

Nov. 15, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.: The Regina Police Service and the provincial coroner's office are investigating an unusual death on the east side of the Queen City reported Sunday. 

Police were called to the 2100 block of Heseltine Road on Nov. 14 around 6 a.m., after a call to dispatch reported the death of an individual. 

The body of an adult male was discovered and confirmed deceased at the scene. No other information about the victim has been released by the RPS. 

Investigation has begun by both police and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, but no further details are yet available.
