REGINA — For yet another year, the Provincial Capital Commission has partnered with military and veterans to support the placing of wreaths on Saskatchewan cenotaphs for Remembrance Day.

The PCC, the Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command and provincial military liaison Greg Lawrence have partnered to provide more than 170 wreaths across the province.

"Honouring veterans and remembering our fallen heroes is an important part of military recognition,” said Lawrence, MLA for Moose Jaw-Wakamow. "Placing wreaths is a timeless and peaceful tradition to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice."

The wreath distribution program has existed for several years, funded annually by the PCC. It helps support Remembrance Day memorials and programs held by the Legion across the province.

"We wish to express our gratitude to the provincial government for their continued support of veterans and Remembrance in our great province," said Keith Andrews, president of the Legion, Saskatchewan Command.

"The Government Wreath Project serves as a reminder to everyone the importance of remembrance for those who sacrificed for our freedoms."
